A130 vs A140 diodes - are they different?

Hi M3VUV.
Putting all differences aside I have ran the A140 diode at 1.6/1.8A and most times they output around or even over 1+W's .Thats with a G2 lens M9 X 0.5 thread in a 10mm barrel . I think I machined a heat sink for GSS in a Phaser build with a high out put . maybe he can chime in.

Rich:)

If you want to know which you have, the back of the diode is the best way to tell. The M140 has a little circle above the edge of the box which is only on this diode. If you would like to see an example, DTR has had one on his website for years.

Paul, posting to this guy is like posting to brick wall. It's all about him, never listens to advice and every other post of his in a every thread is him insulting members who wen't out of their way to help him.. Nice that you tried;)
Lord forgive a thread got off topic for a few post's. It just proves he does no research of his own and ahsn't lurked enough to see how this forum is at times and is all about me me me guy.
Rich, yup at 1.8A this A140 you made for me was a good one, 1.997W..
I think he's asking about the A130 though which I only know they can do 700mW but not much more but don't know about the driver setting??

Hi
Yes if your talking about the A140/M140 diodes there is a mark pressed in the back of the M140 diode . The A140 diode will not have this mark as Paul stated. here are a few pics the A140 has 3 bond wires and the M140 has 4 bond wires. The A130 is a lower power diode than the A and M diodes .

ive seen that ,the issue i have is i salvaged some diodes from a casio xj-a135 projector,i thought they were 140a type diodes but they pop there cloggs at 1200ma,im trying to figure out what diodes i have and driver current etc.

coul do with a list on here ,saying what projectors use what diodes! would save a lot of trawling thru threads!

There probably are a few threads that mention what's in what as far as projectors. What's the deal with you and wanting every answer easy and complaining when you don't get them?? Sometimes members do answer and you just seem miss them or it's just not at exact as your hoping..
Searching the forum and finding old threads can actually be fun at times..
The best member for info on the A130 diodes is probably "Hakzaw". Also he knows a bit about projectors..

Hi I have one A130diode in stock for about fi=our years and never bothered to do any testing . Since the M and A diodes are here well that's sums it up on my end. Good luck maybe look into the other selection of projects that carry the higher power diodes.

Rich:)

anyone know what diodes the casio xj-A135m series projectors use,i have the laser diodes from one but 1amp drive seems to kill them after a min or so,cheers m3vuv.

if i know what diodes these use then can sus out if i can use them, lots of threads directing me here but nothing to say i actualy have 140 a type or what ever,i assume no one knows!.i wish ppl would stick to whats asked!!

Typical ...craving to be spoon fed answers to questions that have no absolute answers whilst ignoring the empirical data from it's own experience that clearly teaches, use less current than what destroyed one of the diodes in hand.
Oh well gotta grow up sometime. LOL

no absolute answer ,what bollox, seems its a simple fucking question!!,i think a lot of you cunts just like to have a pop at ppl!,lowering the drive power is pretty obvious, gues you love the sound of your own keyboard,So yet another wank reply that has fuck all to do with the original question, encap some advice for you unles youve got something relative to the original question asked keep your mits away from the keyboard.!!!

WELL m3vuv,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, here's one old thread of quite a few where it's mentioned that a A130 should be set at less than 1W..
At least 10 more pages of possible facts if you ever chose to do some research yourself.
Best setting's are no more than 900mAh at no more than 700mw..
the whole point is i dont know if its a a130 a140 m140 etc, thats hat im trying to find out then i can research specs on whatever i have, trying to get a straint answer is harder than trying to poke wet spaggeti up a cats arse!!

encap is a very frustrated person from what I can tell from his replied. They are always cold, rude and meant to be insulting :)
Life has not been kind to him perhaps.
