Ok, Bryce any I just calculated that IF we go with this offer for
$159.99, it would cost:
$168.51 per LG 8x Drive
(Shipping AND PayPal fees INCLUDED)
For shipping we thought best would be USPS Express (comes here in 7 days or less), which costs $24-26 (depending on how it's done - personal or online) and is the SAFEST method of shipping fom US to me.
Before that, Bryce wants to ship the sleds to Daguin for partial diode extraction (= diodes still in their little heatsinks for protection, for shipping to me)...
So shipping is calculated to be $30 total, divided by 9 of us it's $3.33 per person..
$159.99 + $3.33 = $163.32 shipped with express to me....
Then there are PayPal Fees, i used reverse PP fee calculator, and it said
$168.51 - that's where the above price is from...
$168.51 is only valid if we go now, and don't miss the special offer i got!
NewEgg already has the price of this exact same item listed as
$179.99 again, as of today!
Now if i put that into the same calculation, with shipping and PP feez, it comes to
$189.10!!
I kinda like the first price better, and i'd really like to get these sooner rather than later, but everyone has to decide for themselves! We don't know what will happen in a few weeks...
I'm going through with it, because i want to, and i want to do it now. I want to put extra diodes in the murder pool, and finally make myself an 8x as well!
The rest of you have to decide for yourselves, for your own reasons. Don't order now to do someone else a favor, order now if you want one now, regardless of where the prices will go in the future (as you have just seen, down is not the only possibility).
I also could have waited for the 6x's to become available as QC rejects, but instead got my first GGW diode for around $300 from a brand new LG drive, and i will never regret it! This here is almost double the power at half the price (if 8x's can survive 400mW as long as 6x's can survive 200mW - something we will know soon as well)!!
