Nice....No...Beautiful !!! Your attention to detail is very, very appreciated !!
May the " Power Output Gods " shine on you !!! :san::san:

Thanks buddy!

But no actually the bear module as is makes a football sized dot at 4 meters,
I still have to add collimating lens and IR filter to the housing!

Very close to complete only collimation lens and IR filter left to incorporate!

Opinions for Brass or Copper or alloy in the head for adjustable collimation!

Ok bad news!
When David mentioned to me I can go as high as 4.5v on the driver I was concerned, this was supposed to be a handheld laser, not a bench top supplied by PSU,,

Now while playing with collimating lenses I've realised that this module increases power as it warms up but on a fully charged NCR the max I have seen so far is 450mw. So poped on the power supply and increased slowly to 4.5v and the output noticeably rised as I whatched for a minute it reached 650mw. And was still rising but I stopped there to ponder my disappointment and options, Is there a 4.5v. 18650 or another option I have not considered yet!
I'm about to let David know of my disappointment, I probably should have used thicker wire on my battery contact board consistent with the wire on the driver, I'll change it but everything else is heatsinked perfectly,,

There was a very noticeable change in output power when cycling from 4v to 4.5v.

I paid and expected for a 800mw module not a 450mw module very disappointed!!

I wonder if I use 2. 3v. batts drained to 2.3v each!!

That is disappointing, hopefully it can get worked out. :(. So much effort put into the build.

Don't think you should have to used noncharged batteries, that seems a little hokey?

Juuuuuust incase you ever need a fallback :)

But for real, I'm disappointed that your module didn't turn out how you wanted it:( You made a beautiful host for it as well!

Maybe you can add a boost regulator to the circuit to get it to or even over 4.5 VDC. Might be your best option at this point.

I might have jumped the gun just a little, In this vid after a minute and a half. With the PSU at 4.5v. It reached 800mw.

And another try with the fully charged bat I just got 600mw +. So still a 600mw handheld but I'm not satisfied!

I saw your module sale days ago buddy but it would take a little more work to customise and driver is odd and bulky and I haven't seen a vid of it in action, the smallest things worry me sometimes but all and all my custom build is a success it doesn't get warm even after 2 min so 800mw with carefully chosen battery and unlimited run time isn't impossible! I think I recall a new generation 18650 battery somewhere!

Sorry for triple post but.
( MUST SEE VIDEO. )

What the hell was I worried about here I was thinking it takes a while to heat up and rise in power, Obviously not many high powered DPSS owners here, Most of the vids I did was without collimation as I mentioned and therefore taking time to obsorbe the heat and rise in reading, My first power up with collimation in place I burnt my finger, OMG I have not seen a laser burn so well and I've owned the highest power diodes there is, I was worried I would damage my Ophir so just a second on the thermopile shows 750mw and then watch it burn everything in sight, I am overwhelmed another awesome success thanks guys!

No problem Andrew will do! Seems like when there's a problem everyone's quick to respond but when it's a success, Go figure!

Badboy, ignore RB request to buy it, he's been grounded. Let me know instead. :D

Well done Billy glad you got it worked out. Very gorgeous build :gj:
