Re: O-like 400mw green - $208 (hitting 600mw) - Review

It appears that they are gone.

It does not even say "Sold Out".

Just gone....

As if they never existed.

I wonder if they took the product off the site to avoid people emailing questions about when they will be available again. anyway my order is in. looking forward to doing a review.

Weird. When they were out before, they kept the listing. I'll bet we won't see them again. :cryyy:

What's the deal with (*cringe*) the DinoDirect "Certified Power Guarantee" Firepoint greens?
Firedragon-III 532nm 350mW Flashlight Style Elite Green Laser Pointer Kit (Certified Power Guaranteed) - DinoDirect.com

Apart from the usual re: cheap chinese gadget website reliability, etc - any thoughts on this line of lasers from DD ?

$/mW seems on par with the 400mW O-Like... and after all, they're all coming from China...?

That DD laser pointer exactly looks like the 350mW/450mW/550mW O-like IR filtered green laser torches. Looks like it is on sale on DD right now. The description does not mention anything regarding IR filtering though...

I have the 450mW IR filtered O-like however I had to send it back to China in order to fix it because the spring broke off from the driver.

I have never purchased anything from DinoDirect because - if I know well - they do not ship lasers to the United States... :(

The sale is a farce - they're always "on sale" - and a sketchy company from an ethics perspective I think. Still an interesting item...

The sale is a farce...

Well, as you can see I visit really often that web site... :D

I have just read a comment of a customer on DinoDirect who said "don't expect all suggested in the description on Dino to be true."
That says everything. ;)

To make things correct, the 400mW green laser torch is actually on the list, marked as sold out.

The 350mW portable Green laser torch/IR filtered is not on the list anymore.

It actually disappeared, as though it did not exist, for about 12 hours.

Then it re-appeared as "Sold Out".

Possibly they needed to verify whether they could get more or not...

HTML:
Cause why is O-Like so stupid and produce only 10 lasers ?? Why not 50?!

I am sure that they don´t produce them themselves. It´s rather a selection process, which means only some out of a mass are >350mw. So for getting 10 you need to inspect maybe 100 to get them. I personally guess that O-like is kind of division of a larger company, so it would be possible for them to select, just to satisfy the laser-enthusiasts needs and get some extra business... But I may be wrong.

Don´t be sad, I just looked and they are there. Just sold out at the moment, but still there. So no reason to order at a not validated source.

Yes that was odd. The 400mw OL-532-350 did in fact disappear. But now its back and the OLNG-350 is gone. I have the OLNG-350 and its a fantastic laser (see my review) so I am glad I got one. I choose it over the OL-532 because of what I think is a better design. But I ordered the OL-532 when they just had them so I well get one of those as well and see how it does compared to the OLNG. I will then likely sell one of them so keep your eyes open. O-like told me 3-4 weeks delivery (I did not opt to pay the extra for express delivery [i can wait]).

It's fantastic they are getting these output powers from DPSS 532 these days for so cheap. Remember when a 300mw 532 could only be had in a labby for >$1000? but what really blows my mind is 1-2W of 445 out of a tiny diode!

The last time it took about 1 1/2 month to restock and the dozen of 400mW green lasers were gone in about 2-3 hours...
