Haha, of course. There was such little activity in this thread aside from my own that I figured others just wanted it to die :p However, with that request made, I'll go ahead and tune down my 7mA PSU tomorrow and get a spare cord ready and stripped for this laser so that once it arrives all prep work has already been taken care of. Then once I get it up and running, I'll get yall some pics!

On another note, I plan to start another project a little later with a one-window REO/OEM to try to get it lasing in a couple extra wavelengths. I'll have quite a number of HR external mirrors in varying OCs to play with. We'll see what I can get working. Really going to need to grab an optical LPM soon with all the HeNes I'm racking up :whistle:

The 594/604 will be here Monday and I'll be sure to get some pics up then. As far as The REO project, that won't be a for a while. A Multi-Line argon has it's place above that project ;)

(the large gap between 543 and 594 is driving me up a wall...)

Ahhh, welcome to the club! It's a bit lonely over here but sure is gorgeous. I don't think I've tried shining my 612nm through a diffraction grating; I'll have to do that sometime!

Why not give it a whirl; I'd recommend it! As of next Monday I will have 2 ML HeNes, so they're out there. Problem is lasing them at their exact requirements.

I notice you don't have the 612nm in your sig ;)

So I got the HeNe today, via Sam ;) HUGE SHOUTOUT! Anyway, via some troubleshooting from both Sam and Dave (dealing with a $600 system here, needed to ensure perfection.) I got it up and lasing, in all of it's golden glory. But first, I'll start off with the setup. The only hurdle we faced here was a PSU outputting 7mA. We needed 6.5mA. Normally this wouldn't be too big an issue with a 633, however, with these 544-612 systems, they can be a bit more finicky. Plus, as discussed earlier, this particular laser also lases about half a mW of 604nm ;) So, on with the pictures! Unfortunately I couldn't get thick enough smoke to get a shot of the 604, but it's still a beautiful laser all around!

Using a 200ohm resistor, I had to set the V to 1.3V for the amperage to be what I needed (6.5mA) these pots are RIDICULOUSLY sensitive, keep that in mind if you're ever doing this.

Seriously though that's a sweet piece of kit. I'm going to put a diffraction grating in front of my HeNe next time I have them set up for grins and giggles to see if I find any surprises.

If these were not so interesting i doubt many like me want to see bad enough to deal with pics X2 the width of our monitors...you really need to solve thia ASAP.
Is it even possible for somebody on a micro PC-- ie.. their fricken cell phone.. to even see these??

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but are you using some ancient browser? Any modern browser should scale them. Safari, Firefox and Chrome on OS X as well as my iPhone and iPad browsers scale them fine.
