574nm 36 mW Yellow Laser

So, I did an experiment with yellow crystals. Results are amazing with 980nm diode. I get like 60/40 yellow/orange proportion. Results were different with stock LD. I guess they are both 980 and 976 pumping crystal, but with different proportions.
Laser diode used:https://www.ebay.com/itm/980nm-4W-I...er+dode+4w&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313
I did not tried currents above 1A, so I can assume I can get up to 80mw 575nm and some orange too.
Posting pics soon.
I got red line from crystal, lol. It just got hot and started to lase at ~ 630nm.
Conclusion: Wavelenth depends on crystal temperature.

That’s interesting and potentially very helpful. I did see on one paper I was looking at a crystal with peak absorption at 976nm but there were other peaks very close by within a few nm. I’m going to try and hunt for it again when I can. Are you able to spectro the results?

I don’t have spectro yet. I can say that it starts to flicker orange/red/yellow past 2A can’t keep it stable, it’s getting hot within seconds.

No problem, be careful not to damage the crystal.
But thanks for the observation. And idea however not ideal, but is it possible to make a visual of the colour, so we can narrow down up to a point what the wavelengths are being generated. This will help in our struggle to pinpoint what crystal it is.

That could very well be an alignment issue. If you don't get the crystal aligned properly it will get hot and will likely emit lines it was not meant to. You might try positioning the crystal a bit differently to see if you can get a single line out and, more importantly, keep the crystal from overheating.

Good news guys!

Hi Robert,

Good news, Crystal problem solved, and we will have 100pcs yellow laser module on next Monday.

If you have demands, pls inform me. So that i can arrange the first delivery for you.

Regards,

Novo

I like the way you think, if these are really going to be available in those numbers, it could be a great G.B.! :yh:

That's a great price, are they just going to be the 575nm version?

I'm in for another of the 575 units, or two. Any word on when we'll see higher power versions?
