505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

The results for the 6 diodes I sent to CNI came back. At low current setting of 60-70mA, they all measured in the range of 507-509nm. It means around 510nm if running at their advertised power. I think we still have to spectrometer the ones from DTR to decide if the whole batch is 510nm or just the ones from song song.

I came to this conclusion after finishing my tests on Saturday. The ones with the number micro-printed around the diode's window SB1473N91 are indeed the 505nm diodes. Mine spec'd at 502nm at recommended current and increased to less than 503nm at higher currents. The ones micro-printed with SB147EC91 are the ones that spec'd at the same WL CNI came up with. I believe they are different diodes or, at the very least, higher WL diodes from a different batch of the same part number.

The whole stock that Song ordered from Sharp are the Original Package 505nm GH05035A2G (SB147EC91) Diodes, and there engineer spec'ed them 504-508nm @ Datasheet current.
They don't have the SB1473N91 Diodes and as far as im aware never did.

....so i'm not sure where the SB1473N91 Diodes came from and where Lifetime17 Purchased them :)

Seem's like they where old examples sitting on a dusty shelf for along time until an Email appeared showing interest.

These Sharp SB1473N91 Diodes could be as rare as diodes get. :anyone:

The one I bought from ebay is doing 503nm.

Do you mind PM'ing me with how much it costs to have CNI build a custom GLP for you? I might consider that if i manage to get ahold of a very low 500's diode later on.

You might want to check with either Lifetime17 and/or laserman121. I believe one or both received these diodes from Song Song.

The SB1473N91 diode i have came from Song

There you go. And, who believes a sales person trying to sell you something like a LD that they spec'd and gave you the quoted WL? I'd believe anyone before I'd believe them. As far as I know, this is the first time we have done any business with them.

Well said! who really knows whats going on at Songs end, they most likely had no idea about the micro-printed numbers.
Still no idea why then we have two different Diodes, i asked Song to check the new stock of these diodes and 'apparently' there stock are all SB147EC91.

I sent an email of to Techhood and Newgazer to ask if they can check the number on there 505nm Diodes, still waiting on the reply,

I guess if we can get ~100mw @ 507-511nm then they still a step above the OSRAM 10mw PLT5 510-515nm Diodes.

I hope USPS doesn't lose my diodes. 2 packages from DTR both out for delivery only one delivered. The new green and blue are traveling with the mailman. It's like they know. The stress! Gah!
