445nm laser in a watch !

My electrical knowledge is severely lacking, but what about a little capacitor that charges off the battery and gives you a couple seconds of power. Then you could get better battery life. Add a solar panel to the mix and youve got a survival pew pew watch.

Also be cool to put one with an SOS capable LED driver inside one of those small hand crank radio flashlights. Lost in the woods? when you see that helicopter fly over at night, turn off the weather report, point it up, crank crank crank crank crank (5 mins later, hopefully its not over the horizon) SOS into the air and hope they look your direction.

Well I would not call THIS watch .. I mean something small and completely normal looking. Then you touch it with battery (let's say 9v, but that has low current), only you know what places it connects to .. and BLAM .. 1W of blue light will stream of it.
Yes that sounds good but if you have a external battery then you got alot of space left so you could easely have a array of lasers inside,... ;)

Should this big enough for a lase?

Actually i was thinking some years ago about a special version of a high power pen @ a special frequency to replace the pen-gun flare, perhaps every stealth fighter should have one.:gh:

The Year In Special Operations | The Rescue of Vega 31: How Special Ops Forces Saved an F-117 Pilot in Serbia

I remember back in the 70's that my father as a helicopter pilot in Zaire had a small signaling mirror you could see true and a pen-gun flare.

Okay here's my first attempt at a laser watch! I wanted to get an idea of what I needed to do in order to pull off this build e.g. Battery size, focusing module size, heat sinking etc. So for this build I got a cheap spy watch from toy r us and gutted it , just kept the shell and the watch lcd, I use a flat red laser diode from a 10x lg bh10 drive, I am not using a driver in this build just the direct method. battery 1x cr2 2016. Shes pushing 144mW!!!

For my 445nm laser watch build, I will use a better quality watch, a flexdrive, an this very nice tiny 3.7volt rechargeable 50mah lipo, its in the pic next to the laser watch. The pic with the Rolex and Breitling are there to give you a size comparison. I am still searching for a small glass lense for my tiny focusing module so I can keep this build relatively small and I don't want it to be bulky. Some of the watches you guys posted are sick. I am getting some good ideas, I'll keep you guys posted on my progress!

That's a pretty good idea. Just find a good size host, and I guess you could really do what you want with it. It might look a little funny in the end LOL.

sounds like someone has way too much time on their hands.. what would the purpose of a laser-watch be?

maybe a cool conversation piece? oh I know flashing down a chick in a nightclub..
hey bebbe, how you like my lasher beam watch.

you beat me nano - I was about to suggest the silver DX watch for a laser array :)

I think the little red one that marine mAde is sick as he'll. A 1w 445 in a nice looking watch that works would be phenomenal !! Good job marine an keep up the good sick ass work!

A CR2450 can apparently supply 30mA of current. Two of them stacked inside a watch host would be 6V, 30mA of current, and only about 11mm thick.

That could direct-drive a 445nm couldn't it? (and maybe provide around 100mW?)
