another idea: why make the lens nut longer to screw the nut all the way in to the diode and still have a focusing ring outside to turn at all? shorten the aixiz housing, or order two bags of short ones! should be easier, cheaper and more precise (because simpler!) than custom nuts? i wouldnt mind shorter modules, the extra space isnt used anyway?

how about making empty nuts available as well? i would order something like 10 lenses (in nuts), 10 aixiz-housings and 10 (or more) empty nuts. and metal-pinholes, possibly :-)

shorten the aixiz housing... What about people who have already mounted their expensive diodes? I'm sure they're not going to want to turn their diode+module on a lathe just to go a cheaper route, nor do most people have access to them.

I think another reason to use the regular/long aixiz housing is for better stability. Earlier in the thread there was discussion of means to keep the lens nut from wobbling like the plastic aixiz ones do.

What if we just go with the regular AixiZ combined with harder springs to solve that part?

CPF MP is very rude, I'm banned there as well for being a "company" (even though its just me... but I guess I do sell a lot) and trying to sell them lasers. They require "companies" to pay them like $20 a month to the moderator just to be able to post. It is not worth it unless you sell lots of flashlights.

on another note, congrats on figuring this all out. I'd love to buy 25 lenses ASAP !! :)

How is it to get one to Norway? (or 2) Could it be sent cheap with a letter? Wrapped in some soft plastic or something to protect the lenses.

Since the 6x GB was refunded, do we get to start the lens GB?
