Hey All,
Novelty Hand Grenade 445nm Build.
Alright guys and gals got a good one for you all today. Iam always trying to find cool host and i have not done something like this before.
It was original a flashlight that i bought and took nearly 5 months to come to me. I guess it was stuck in customs or something because that is very unusual coming from a supplier that i talk to alot. Anyway so it came in the other day and i could not wait to get something in it.
Surprisingly it is very good quality and very nice Anodizing on it as well as thick thick walls. So with that said i chose 445nm laser. The Laser runs off 1 16340 however im going to bore out the tube so it can take n 18350. Much better battery IMO. Especial with a drive running at 1.6A.
Here is the Build.
Pictures:
Here is the Heatsink Design i made for it with a copper module.
A closer look at the heatsink.
and the copper module that i made. The copper module was not needed bu i think it gave it a better look.
After pressing in the diode and connecting the driver to the diode iam ready to insert the heatsink into the battery barrel that came with the light.
You can see with the heatsink in the battery barrel that everything is nice tight fit for best heat transfer. This makes one long heatsink down the center of the host.
Its threaded so it screws into the head making a tight fit.
Screwing in Everything.
You will have this. As you see the tube is not touching the inside. Thats fine s it does help keep the diode a little cooler the big bonus of this host is where the heatsink is in the head. Their is very thick aluminum up there. Basically the whole head is one thick piece of aluminum. This laser can run for a few minutes no problem.
Now its time to screw the tail cap on.
You will have this.
The final piece is the switch to screw on the body.
You will have this and Your almost done.
Then its time for the lens.
Your done.
I decided to make a custom focusing ring to make it look for cool.
LPM Results:
Beam Shots....
Bottom Line This was just a really fun build to do.
Iam going to keep this deep in the back of my weapon safe with a piece of cardboard down in the barrel so even if you got a hold of it and put a battery in it wont turn on. Not that anyone is ever allowed where my weapon safe is let alone know where it is.
:thanks: For Looking.!!!
Keep on Lazing.....
