1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180 ****OUT OF STOCK****

Curious what kind of run time you people that bought Yob's 445 are getting on 1 charge of batteries ?

Hard to say exactly, but I think it's about 30 to 60 minutes. :tinfoil:

Also the batteries I send are uncharged.

yeah. some people thought it was fully charged and used it, end up under charging the battery and decreasing it's lifetime

Do you mark your lasers as gifts? I was so excited about the 100$ deal that I actually forgot about the import taxes :yabbem:
Thanks!

funny moment --- had goggles on which makes the beam look like an orange luminous speck/point ... i put my hand out in front of the beam and immediately it felt like hot lava on my hand ... like a soldering iron poked onto it ...whew... !

I bet the dot looks so innocent with goggles on, haha, always got to remember that its a 1 watt :P

no no no
its a nice reality check to verify how much energy is coming out of the thing !

Mine just arrived today, it is a beauty I must say.
Just one query, when out of focus I have a rectangle as a opposed to having a circular point whilst in focus. Is this the norm for it.. right?

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180 ****OUT OF STOCK****

yes Marcusss --- mine is the same way and the focus ring is pretty loose --- it will de-focus fairly easily but I know that issue was addressed, prior with plumbers' tape or something ?

Most people use Teflon Tape, I use Tip-Ex.

The diode its self has a bar which produces light so without collimation you end up getting a rectangle like "dot"

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180 ****OUT OF STOCK****

Multimode diodes do that... Its like 3 lasers in one going through the same diode do they all don't hit the target in the same spot exactly.. but when up close a small rectangle has the same power as a dot the same size.
These are so powerful that even a rectangle can do a number on a balloon.... It can pop one at 30 feet in about a second... closer is instantaneous.

I"m new to multimode lasers too... if I explained it wrong, I"m sure someone will correct me.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180 ****OUT OF STOCK****

good times last night with the Yob445 ... a friend came over and we put goggles on and beamed away ... he was quite impressed like "wow, is this legal ?!"

I demonstrated the beam up into the sky , as well . good times .
did a side by side comparison with my Rayfoss 532 green laser, quite a nice contrast.
the 445 beam is wider/thicker but doesn't seem to travel quite as far into the horizon as does the 532 ...

:friend:
