It does get pretty warm without external cooling but the thing is so small for a 1 Watt. IMHO I think it's a great trade off for size vs power. Try carrying around that hideously bulky WL arctic tarantula in your pocket.

So if anyone would like a matching 650nm Red laser I have 1 available. It uses a LCC diode and the current is set at 440mA. Should be around 250mW. It is using a standard acrylic lens. I recommend switching to glass but it is entirely up to you. It runs on 2 rechargeable CR123A batteries just like the 445nm lasers do. It is identical aside from the color of laser that is coming out and the driver used. Asking $100 shipped or $95 if added onto a new 445nm order.

Put in a 18650 battery. It will still lase at 200mW-250mW and it got indefinitly run-time. The laser wil go hand-warm, not hot.

Yeah, i tried 18650 and it looks half as bright, and still burn things with a 1/4 strength against the cr123
But i love power, it would be perfect if the heatsink was copper
but what more can i hope for? it's already an extremely great handheld weapo.......oops , i mean 1W laser

I'm getting my 3rd 1.2W blue laser! woohoo
Gonna sticky tape them together in a triangle shape and mount it on my shoulder
Then i will be the Predator. i can shoot energy blast, becareful.

I just want to let everyone know. I just got my Kenometer Pro today, and I metered one of my two Yobresal 445's. (Will meter the other later, the Kenometer's batteries died soon after!)

... Maybe this'll help Yobresal some more in the selling of these:

60 second run.
1230mW average.
1410mW peak.

Hot.
Damn. :D

Yeah you got a good one. Your red is ready also, just waiting on your violet diode to arrive from China before I send them out.

Correction, all laser in this powerrange ( 1000mW+ ) got hot fast. You need a big heatsink to remove all the heat. This means you need a big host.

I would be worry if the host don't get hot. The heat must has been trapped inside and the diode will not last long.

What makes a good heat conductor :
1 ) High area contact between the diode and the heat sink
2 ) Material of of heatsink (Metals with more free eletrons are better)
3 ) Black colours at the surface
4 ) and of course a bigger heat sink (able to hold more heat; reducing the chance to overheat)
