  • They sure do. It shows you that our eyes do not make good LPM's. If it was an efficient diode, then it would operate at a higher power and hence look brighter. ;) But it seems to be hovering around 5-6mW which is good. Also I need to make a reading with a tripod so the LPM can register for the right amount of time with better steadiness. There's a limit to how still I can keep my hand. :p
Yes 5 or 6 cotton balls and as far as wax goes, I use canning wax. It comes in blocks and you can find it in most super markets. I use thread to tie the balls together and have about 2" piece to dip with. Melt the wax in a can in a pan of boiling water, this will keep the wax from getting too hot.
Yea the wax keeps it dry and adds fuel to the mix. the cotton makes it easy to light with a fire steel lighter or flint. You want the ball about 1.5 inches.
The cotton ball wax thing is really easy. You just coat the outside of the cotton. So when you open it up you have dry cotton that will light with just a meager spark. It will burn for about 5 min. you can also use Vaseline.
Yes, everyone seems to of got good units. He may of just got a faulty laser. It happens to the best of companies. Either way, the quality is exceptional for the retail cost. Be careful of the wires. :p I haven't tried the freezer trick on any of my lasers yet. But the brightness is good enough at the moment. I do estimate its power to be 15-20mW, simply due to its marvellous beam next to my 589 Spartan.
UK customs can be quite strict at times.
It's ok I can afford those Olight ones without a problem. But again thanks for your offer. Much appreciated. :) There are a couple threads on here for the lpm. I believe I have the 38-0101 sensor on mine.
Ha, yes I know. :D It has just been sitting in a box, waiting for me.
I have to try it soon. Its a Scientech 365 as well.
You can't ship lithiums anymore unfortunately can you?
Shouldn't be too difficult. I found two O Light batteries on Amazon for just short of £10. All positive reviews. I've got a Xtar charger coming that fits all different size lithiums. So I should be alright. Thanks GSS for the offer.
For my LPM, I'm going to have to buy a US to UK transformer so that I can measure that 520. I have had a LPM for a while, but have never got round to using it. :p
That's good news for you. Hopefully you will receive yours soon. :) Mine is showing up as invalid with China Post at the moment.
I'm going to have to buy a couple of 16340's for it though, as I don't have any.
Will do :) He doesn't appear online very often. But I'm pretty sure he wants to clear his companies name here considering that we are his target market.
