What's your budget? You can get close to a watt, if you've got the $$$ that is.
 
Don't you guys think 1 Watt is bit overkill?
What would you need so much power for, salvatore?
Especially for someone new to collimated and coherent light.
Why don't you start off with a 50mw one?
They are a lot of fun, too, but you don't poke holes in your retina immediately off a stray reflection.
 
You need goggles for anything over 5mW. And you need to make sure the goggles are rated for the "nm" and "mW" of the laser you are using.

You dont understand that at 1W a 532nm laser will burst your eye with a stray reflection?
and 1W 532nm lasers are A LOT OF MONEY.
not many people here have them
 
Out of curiosity, why do you think you *need* one?
 
To pop balloons and dazzle aircraft! Seriously though, please don't do the latter.

Seriously dude try out the bb guns first. Accidentally blind yourself then see if you still need a $4000 1W green laser.
