Ok, this is a great laser, dont get me wrong, but I've tried lighting paper on fire, and all it does is smoke. Here is the video:

You wont ever be able to light that paper on fire. Maybe burn it but no open flames, at least I have never seen it light actual flames.
if you defocus it a bit ( so that your heating a larger area and burning it slower ) it does ignite occasionally.
it also greatly depent on the paper, i used the simpel old news paper.
Wow.......I just saw this thread. I could have easily answered any questions/concerns you may have. It looks like the laser is plenty powerful. Like others have stated it is very hard to ignite the paper. That video I made did not happen on the first try. The type of paper, the focusing ability of the user, the power of the laser, the dryness of the paper, the type of printing ink used. There are any number of variables to take into account here. I test all the lasers I sell on a laserbee before they are shipped.
^I shot that video about 2 months ago. I can light it much faster now as well.![]()
