But it's just not up to par IMO.
I look forward to my own build in a few months when I have the funds, and will refer to this site multiple times.
I'd rather do a DIY than buy my powerhouse laser online. It'll be my jewel of the collection. And my first 445.

I have ordered the DrLava optic set and am designing the lens holders. 20mm seperation as posted but I want some adjustment. This is a real bastard machining project.

Well now we get some official measurements, power and divergence, thanks Dave.
Too bad that wicked did not use any corrective optics. It's a big laser, with plenty of room to add more then a standard lens.
Dave when you get a chance, can you take a closer look at the lens. Is it a single element lens?

Dave, is there a CNI like serial number in or on that laser anywhere? I've heard talk of a CNI serial number, but I won't believe it till I see it.

I've got about 10 aperture caps from CNI pens with serial numbers for comparison

In fact, Chuck from AixiZ told me the Steve got a bunch of lenses from them... (after we did the testing and stuff)

by pics... semms that the beam diameter is NOT 1.5mm.........but like all others builds... about 5mm.
i think 199 is a ghood price.. but is a price fos TEST UNITS.... wl does not still have the right knowhow ....to how construct it properly....... i will wait for months before to buy it.. or wait for a CNi ROUND BEAM.....

You won't get a round beam with these 1watt blue lasers, even the Dragon 1 watt states it has a retangle beam.

If you want one with a round beam go with the 400mw blue Spatan by Dragon.

The lens has the same color and the same multiple reflection as the AixiZ 445nm glass lens.

The LED's are bright enough to see, but not bright enough to distract you. They are a pleasant gold color. They are not very "clear" in this pic, but in person, they are very easy to see. I haven't worn a battery out enough to see if the LED's will go out one at a time as the battery fades

Here is the number inside the body. It is a "sticker."

Also, someone asked me to test the output without the "high power" lens screwed on. I did. The output with just the Aixiz lens is 830mW

even if it is 700 mw's the Arctic is still great value, look around at ready made greens, or reds and won't get a 700mw anywhere as cheap as the Arctic, looking forward to mine.

Lots of moaning going on here. Waiting moaning we are waiting (even me) and moan when the G1 is available. Seems no one is happy and a lot of hostility towards WL and the Arctic.

It has no corrected Optics so expect the beam to not be good, As long as it burns thats fine. Corrected optics, I have read somewhere rob a lot of power and many DIY of this power don't use correctec optics, you don't need them for burning. I would imagine the more lenses you had the more power loss.

I cannot see any good reviews at all as to many are so hostile that there will no be honest reviews of this laser, yours maybe the best and only honest review we will see. Pity people's hostily will cloud their judment. Many on this forum will always hate the Arctic no matter what so no honest reviews, only hostile ones.

Now look at mine

It's all the lies about the specs in order to sell thousands of units that are not what were promised...

Well is anything to spec, been into videogaming for years, even got a PS3 and Xbox360 and see all these pretty games in development. These are developed on powerful computers, and demos and videos are often from the game still running on computer, and the finished games never look the same on your console as the game development shows, even spec wise often fails, this applies to many things in life, never matching the specs, people are lied to all the time through advisting.

I don't beleive half of what I read and see, so did not get disapointed with the Arctic. It still does what is intended so why be upset. Many gamers must be used to the lies, as they don't jump up and down like people here are with the Arctic. I say get over it. Your lied to everyday adds are often full of lies and half truths. The spec lies for the Arctic is nothing new? Many other lasers never live up to the specs either. And many are falsly advistising the power rating, yet I don't see people complaining about these other lasers.
