Burning it in for a few hours and it is up to 29.8mW, I will align it this weekend and hopefully get it up to spec power of 35mW.

Before you ask, I will post a video of burning stuff with it.

That is one nice laser Ben.

I always wanted a big HeNe but it will have to wait.

What are the square things that look like magnets??

Guess I better get planning, a couple races at the track and maybe a poker run, I could make enough money to pay all my bills AND get some new "toys"

Seems like every time I get a few grand stashed away, it's time to pay the tax man again.

Dave is right, they are magnets to compress the plasma in the bore. They also help the pointing stability and polarization.

Very nice HeNe You got there:D Interesting power meter too.

Whaaat 60mW??:wtf: That sticker cant be the right one.

Bryce2007: GB? What?? There was a HeNe GB? No way...

Wow. That's a heapin' helpin' of 632.8. Do want. Do want real bad.

No, it has a resivour on the side for gas.

Ehm ..... that wasn't the cathode ? ..... ;) LOL

No, that's right ..... i have a similar tube, from Spectra-Phisics (the only difference is that mine is mounted inside a "industrial" case, instead that in a labby case), i used it years ago for some "high-speed" :p holography experiments ..... unfortunately the original PSU blowed up times ago, and actually i don't have a working PSU for it, nor the time for build it (and 12,5KV PSU is not a toy to assemble in 5 minutes with salvaged parts, LOL), so it's collecting dust on a shelf from a lot of time ..... poor tube :D

Hi,
I have the exact same tube in my collection. They do look very impressive. I just need a power supply for it.
Any chance you could post up some photos of the supply?
Cheers,
Rob.

In that pictures, it's the black box that you see at the side of the support rail (also if mine was different, external, it was looking almost the same, a bock of black plastic filled of resin)

Nice HeNe! Tubes looks stunning, everything looks to be in a good condition too! How much did that run you? :p

I can see the Compass I sold you in the background :D

Wow, thats an epicly big he-ne lol, I wouldn't mind knowing how much a beast like that costs as well :p

I assume this is another one of your buy, repair and sell projects? :)
