Poor old red. lol.

Just cause is not easy to find high power red pointers ..... give me a 2W (or more, i'm not critic :p) 635 / 640 nm pointer, and it jump on the top of my preferred units  ..... (LOL :D)

I'd say 445nm, it'll be in a pointer one day ... and by one day, I mean maybe a few decades :)p), as they come in 500mW and 1W flavours. But it's the prettiest blue IMO.

Interesting that you guys should mention this... I remember reading something about the eye's wavelength sensitivity changing between dark and light - at day the peak sensitivity is 555nm, and IIRC at night it was around 495nm - making a laser at around 500nm / 505nm very very visible at night! Also, this change means that blue 473nm are great for beams in the dark!

Please correct me if anyone knows what the correct peak sensitivity at night is! I read this a long time ago so the number can be anything from 490nm to 540nm :p

Seb

Also 515 nm and 10600 nm i know they arnt in pointers but they are cool , cni do 2mw 500nm and 50mw 515nm lol :D

Were'nt 515nm diodes just recently developed? I though I saw a thread on it...

lets see if i can find it..

593.5 still wins regardless!

:D
