Well I decided to buy a Goblin from Rayfoss because I have yet to see anyone test these suckers out. This will be a Pro and con style review. Any additional information within reason will be provided upon request.

Pros:
517mW
Heavy duty metal construction
Rechargeable high capacity battery
Free safety glasses
Burns shit
Cheap, $5XX shipped
Excellent customer service
Fast shipping from China
Packaged well
Easily disassembled
Requires keys to operate
Has aperture cover
Kind of sexy
Constant on switch
Bright ass beam
Stable after 30 seconds

Cons:
Fat beam
No IR filter
10 second warm up before it hits top power
Unstable for first 30 seconds
60 second recommended duty cycle
Led indicator light is bright as hell
Button is kind of small for the lasers size

wow. Nice laser. I just ordered from rayfoss this weekend, I hope my waterproof red burner gets here soon.

Wow,.. 500mW? Holy shit! Very impressive. How is the divergence on the beam?
Also, a question about this image:

What power is the beam on the left? The right is clearly your 517mW, right?

Have you taken any burning videos yet?
How does it look when you point at clouds? Beam and Dot, or does it illuminate the cloud?

Divergence is neither mentionably good nor bad so I just didn't mention it at all. As for the comparison laser. That was my "300mW" waterproof boblaser. Let me retest that one with this filter that Phoenix77 gave me. BRB. Around 150mW.

Keep in mind the huge beam diameter. This is similar to trying to burn with a red laser unfocused.

Well, its a 1:1 mw/$ ratio so it's not bad at all :p

This thing sucks through batteries. I brought it to work today with me and it is not nearly as impressive as it was last night. Probably down to 300mW. I should have charged it up. I guess that is to be expected though with these powers. I did get a lot of use out of it last night. Probably 20-30 minutes of on time.

Yep, sure did. The envelop is sitting next to my dvd case in my bedroom. Kind of a funny address.

You're right - once you get up into these powers, the battery life takes a dump REALLY fast. My Herc gets about 30min out of a set of Alkaline "D" batteries, but it's worse with those because you're running the cooling fan as well as the diode...

Yeah, it's a crazy shaped street, shaped like a "L". The only St. in the town that runs NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, & WEST. Part of the street has only two digit addresses, while the rest are four digit. But it's a nice quiet street, in a quiet sub-division, & was a GREAT street to raise my son on, 'cause there were other kids his age on the same block. But he's 20 now & in the Army & married. Seems like he was a kid just a month ago. "TIME & TIDE, THEY WAIT FOR NO MAN"................rob

BTW Luke, ya did a nice job on that "GOBLIN" review. Quite thorough !!!!!!!!!!!! rob PS. Looks like that IR FILTER I sent you was JUST big enough. If I'd have sent you the smaller one I had, I don't think it would have been BIG enough !!!!!

Very good power to price ratio there!

Too bad for the 60 second duty cycle thing - if they just added about $10 more of case metal, it would probably sustain continous use.

Rayfoss used to be Qualifound but then moved to a different site. It is a site like 0-like.
