Anyone ever work with the NECSEL 10 watt 520nm before??

For CW, PPLN sure appears to be a poor choice. Only advantage I see so far is when using PPLN, you don't need a YVO4 crystal. I'm sure there must be an advantage though, else it would not be used. Studying.... I suppose one clear advantage is you can directly double some wavelengths to make colors such as yellow, which are otherwise more difficult to produce, but to make green, I don't see the advantage when far greater efficiency can be obtained using 808 nm>YVO4>1064nm>SHG 532 nm w/KTP..

Novalux has developed a high power green laser array of extended cavity surface-emitting lasers, which is called the Novalux Extended Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (Necsel)[54]. As shown in Figure 1.5, Necsel uses intra-cavity frequency doubling of infrared light from VCSELs with an InGaAs active region to produce visible light at 532 nm. The cavity is stabilized by a thermal lens or by an intra-cavity lens to form a simple, semi-confocal cavity with the SHG crystal inside the resonator. A glass volume Bragg grating (VBG) is used to control the operating wavelength. Each single emitter can generate a power of around 100 mW. The biggest advantage of Necsel, claimed by Novalux, is that it can be mass producedat a low cost. This is because all components can be wafer produced and fully tested at the wafer level

They haven't passed the savings on to us yet, from what I've seen.

Well it's not really for sale to the public so the price can be high on the grey market especially for used pulls likely from projector maintenance, if they were for sale on the open market and had competition/demand prices would be lower, also if 48 emitters @ 100mw each before the PPLN then not 10w and coherence length from multi emitter units won't be as good, it is interesting but the price is too high in my opinion when we can get 1w+ 520's for 100 bucks and less, I think I would rather knife edge 4 x 7475's or 03's but maybe there's some advantage to these that I'm not thinking about.

Need to watch THIS Thread !!! for.... I have the "Need for Light Speed " ESPECIALLY at the 532 nm line !!! MMMMmmmmm !!!!
I would prefer a new unit....for who knows if a used unit....errrr…..had been abused ???....It is somewhat unlikely....that a DEW 50K …..ah....." Tool "
will be available within the next 20 years....well....How would I know !!! Might be available to the MIB IV boyz NOW ???? CDB

Endurance lasers had a page up about the "10 watt" NECSEL which an ebay seller was referencing to show they are 10 watts, that was incorrectly based on a sticker the manufacturer has on all of their 1-3 watt devices, meaningless. That and near 70 watts of input power to produce 1.7 to 2 watts of output power for green.

I let Endurance know why they were having problems getting enough power out of the NECSEL; 3.8% efficiency. They had a YouTube "first launch" video but didn't put voltage on the PPLN heater and you can see the output was just a few milliwatts, they were going to follow up with a full power video, but never did. They are going to update their web page on the device showing this, were happy to know as they had never followed up on why the low output due to other work going on.

Если вы про них:

1500.00 - это слишком много, также я слышал, что им нужно много активного охлаждения, и с ними может быть сложно работать, хотя у меня его нет.

Hey all, I’ve always been too lazy to register but now I really want a jayrob host so here we are. I got this thing running about 2 years ago and yeah, it’s stupid hot and needs crazy active cooling. The VCSEL configuration is really clever though. First time I powered it up I also didn’t get anything so I thought it was bad. Turns out that PPLN is reaaaaaaaally sensitive to temp.

Truly interesting fiber launch. It’s really amazing

I can’t remember the exact optimal temps for each the PPLN and the Module, but they were obviously related to each other. I had like a 100watt TEC on mega heatsink/fans by the end and it still creeps up past 50c when running
