I saw a report the beams do not always line up very well for pointer use and no adjustment screws etc. One member reported he was able to align the beams, if I remember correctly, by adding small thin pieces of brass shim stock to push them into alignment, but I don't see how he did that. IDK, maybe the aluminum metal the diodes are mounted in can be slightly bent to improve alignment, if you get one which isn't perfectly aligned.

All of that said, this was just one report, maybe he received one which was different from the others being sold, ask the seller about this.

I still think it is a very good deal though, you cannot buy all of the pieces individually for that money.

I suppose that's true, but these aren't new either. Also, they won't make holograms except for the green laser. The blue and red don't have long enough coherence lengths.

I bought some of these for 30.00 last year. You really have to tune the green and heatsink well. It’s very sensitive to temp. Like as in your finger touching it can untune it. The beams were not perfect but close on overlap. Nice unit. If you want something like this get it. If you can find just the green get that. Honestly I think singlemode green diodes are as good Visually. Good deal good price.

I have a few of these too. I could never really get the green to behave and I burned out a couple of them. What are you using for a driver for each diode?

A seller on eekBay offers DPSS 550nm 25mW module for $500 (the seller almost immediately offered $300 when I watched it, pretty sure it could go down a bit more). Just sharing, maybe a wavelength collector would be interested 😃

P s. I can't seem to put the link here but searching '550nm laser' will surely bring the listing out.

Cheers.

it was this one right? looks like someone already bought one. I wonder if it was for the full price or that $300 offer that you got. 1606073793890.png

Thanks for your offer kecked. Read about it a while ago, but I'll pass for now... Unforunately there's always more laser to buy than money to spend :)

Yup that's the one... I'd guess it was for the $300 offer.

My experience with this seller on ebay, svcheck (11308 ), is F minus, if I were to give them a grade, but for some items you might be OK. I found this, but the pins are bent on some of them. Strange to see a lot of laser diodes like this in the condition some of them appear to be in. Good or bad? Who knows, they sure don't, they don't know shyt about lasers and are a recycling company. They are doing a lot of googling to find the right key words, but beyond that, lost.
