Some test diodes were released to a few of us from a batch Sharp made in an effort to get to 488nm, but since they were a failure, in that respect, there will be no others coming along. Those were measured to be from 473nm to 478nm, and just one that hit 480nm. Unless you want a DPSS 473nm laser, you won't be getting one soon. :undecided:

I think I would fork out the $$ for a 488 in a Spiker host. That looks like the perfect blue.

Also looking forward to see my challeger II + BE, once it ships :san: I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.

Beautiful beam. Thin, strong and great quality - JL Ple Pro. Yeah, and overspec. Awesome laser. Kind of a bit of heating and eating batts like T-Rex and velocirapotors (both together) scared visitors in Jurassic Park. (No jokes, real talk.)

Finally after all this time I purchased a laser from you PODO! I feel bad for waiting so long, I guess I got too many laser projects on my mind. lol!
I ordered the 505nm Pocket, i was originally gonna build one but I really like that pocket host

I have a bunch of larger lab lasers in 473nm DPSS. I have to go through them all and see what works and what doesn't. If you are interested in one of those, I could see about getting one together for you at a cheap price, but it has to be after I finish a long ongoing project first.

Podo, why don't you sell any laser diode drivers ?

Even just the basic 1 mode on/off for the most common diodes ?

I think the lock out feature is something people might like for DIY.

I happened to dissasemble a challenger, and the driver is tiny with the thinnest wires I’ve ever seen and doubles if I’m not mistaken, there like string, this was a 405 laser, hey if it works it’s all good, also paste all over the driver, and they have a ring that fits a 3.8mm diode nicely into a 5.6mm slot, I only dissasembled it to convert to a higher power diode there was nothing wrong with the laser. Just thought I would share this, no big deal!

It simply takes too much time to customize a driver and the profit margin is not worth it, let's say how much would you willing to pay for our single & multimode drivers?
