FS: Sanwu Laser store - RGB handheld lasers, 405nm,445nm,465nm,470nm,505nm,515nm,520nm,525nm,635nm,650nm

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

Seems like some here are anxious to give up their money on the hope of getting the first one of these untested RGB lasers. I am patient and want to see a review of this laser before I consider purchasing one. I am also concerned about the price. Just so you know everyone here isn't ready to hand over any amount before seeing how these laser actually do in our hands.

I think i'm more interested in the 488's now. A RGB handheld would be cool, but expensive i'm guessing. I've wanted a cyan handheld for years now.

Hey, guys... I just want both - I still have to reward myself for my big job project stage 1 finished.

Curtis, you would be much happier with the new Sharp 495nm diode in a handheld. There are no wavelengths to compare it to. I have seen many of these diodes now, and I have one in a build and one in my stock. These are more affordable and better looking than 488nm, IMHO.

I was thinking of 495, as an alternative to 488. But if you say the colour is better at 495 then I might save up some money and get one at some point. I sure have liked what I’ve seen so far.
The colour is amazing in those beamshots.

I'm on the opposite end of that spectrum, I like blue better than green. Now that I'm well acquainted with 495, I can say I'd pick 488 at a similar price point any day over 495. To me, 495 is stoplight green.

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

It all depends on the person and their colour perception. These wavelengths are right on the edge of two colours. Some will see more of one than the other.

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

Yup. Though all of my friends after they would never call it blue unless they were tortured enough to :na:

Just offeeing my $.02 - I just like blues better. I'm really hoping I can get another 483-485ish for a pen build

I do like blues as well, but i'm really after that perfect cyan. That would be a dream. :)

To any and all at Sanwu, got all my ducks in a row. Just thought I’d mention it. (hint, rgb, hint). :D

Yea, maybe longer. I’m looking at Rick’s new 650nm also. Might have to take my socks off to count that high, heeeee

I don't own a 488nm yet, but after seeing the 495's in person, the 488's would have to be spectacular to surpass one of these 495's!

That being said, I can't wait to get ahold of a ~488nm, just to be sure! :D

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

I'm afraid it will be awhile before any of us sees a 488nm diode at less than $350, which is the current low price, IIRC. I am hoping that Sharp will eventually release a 488nm diode at a reasonable price, but when is anybody's guess.

Is there a cheap 473nm laser available anywhere?

Some test diodes were released to a few of us from a batch Sharp made in an effort to get to 488nm, but since they were a failure, in that respect, there will be no others coming along. Those were measured to be from 473nm to 478nm, and just one that hit 480nm. Unless you want a DPSS 473nm laser, you won't be getting one soon. :undecided:
