Yeah, you do need that. I suggest the calibration light that Ocean Optics makes for this purpose. It is a gas discharge lamp that includes argon as well as other gas(es).

I've had a couple of issues with what was apparently sellers profiles being hacked. I tried on two different occasions to buy a Chromecast from two different sellers that ended up being fraudulent!

Ouch. This might have hit me too. Ordered two Chromecasts last week with an okay deal, but they haven't even shipped yet with supposedly expedited shipping.

One of these days I need to get that. On another subject I don't want to start another thread on (this one is pretty much moot now, everyone knowing the listing was a rip off), here's my question:

I've read the green fluorescence from UV excited uranium glass is wide band, therefore cannot be tightly collimated. Have you ever seen anything on this?

Oops... Thread not dead! I figured this guy was a rip off, probably shouldnt have bothered. I bet ebay has a limit on how many refunds they will give to any one member over a period of time.

I never thought of it before, but I guess if you got many refunds in a short period of time, your feedback would certainly go down and they could use that as an excuse to ban you from the site.

I've only had refunds four times in five years, so far. I suppose it is tied to how much volume or the percentage of purchases.

That sounds about right for me too. I've still got a 100% feedback in spite of the refunds.

I have 100% as well and had no doubt this item could not be sold at a 90% discount in NEW condition, it's currently sold by other resellers for 79.95.

We should have just reported the seller, plus it's a loss against the laser items catagory that we don't really want them getting super educated on anyway, next time I will just report it.

Thanks RC. The world really needs DO-GOODERS like yourself to protect them from all the evil doers. Maybe you should check all ebay sellers to make sure they are listing things at the "correct" price.

got my full refund..

mybe we need 'proof of "life"' photos --like one showing a shelf full of RGBs and sellers name=current newspaper etc.
I know there are some scammers who do not have even one-- which is why they even steal pics to post..

Ha ha ha, umm.........how about.... NO! :D :D :D

----edit-----

What will suck is when you spend a few hundred dollars on something and they send you tracking for a package that you must sign for and inside is a bunch of packing noodles and a bubble wrapped red brick.

Then when you demand justice they check your record and see you have received half a dozen refunds for what ever, it could cost you when it counts, 10% of the current discount Chinese price is too good to be true, there is very little to gain from it, go buy a lottery ticket and don't feed the ebay thieves, it will just inspire more of the same. :D

The eBay feedback for a buyer can not be Negative
Feedbacked by a Seller.

Only Seller feedback can be given a Negative Feedback.

eBay itself will not add or remove to your feedback be it
a seller or buyer. Only Sellers and Buyers can effect each
others feedback to a point.

For all the years I've been on eBay and the many undelivered
items... eBay has never punished me for requesting a refund.

Jerry
