Okay so I've been saving a little bit and I am torn between a few choices as to what I should get for my next laser. Christmas is around the corner and I'd like to give myself a present:D

Here they are:
1. Save a little more for a 589nm, new or used.
2. Do a custom NUBM44 build.
3. Get a JetLasers 1W 650nm PLE-Pro
4. Make a multi-diode build.

I've never had a yellow laser before and seeing all of these recent ones owned by other members has got me really interested.

I've had a 44 before and I like it a lot but I kinda messed that up a bit. This time I'd like to do it in a custom build with more room to work with.

JetLasers seems like a good solid choice here and a 1W 650nm would look good to me, although I'm currently in the process of a 639nm high power build and I don't know if I wanna do another red so soon

I've seen a few of those multi-diode lasers and I think they could be quite an interesting build. Although I'd need to figure out how to power multiple diodes with 1 power source.

Give me your opinions:D:beer:

Do an RGB build. Then you can pick any color that matches your mood!

Re: Proper 16340 Batteries for my 445nm 4W Laser

From what I've heard, RGBs are often quite unrewarding in comparison to pure colors.

As the resident wavelength collector here I'd say you should save for a 589. You might even get lucky and get a schizophrenic one like mine! :D

Well, it looks like you have a choice between something great, something fantastic, something super, or just plain terrific. Hope I simplified it for you. You don't need to thank me, just tell Santa I was good this year. Your welcome :D

I'd go for the 589nm personally. Most unique right now. Though, if I had a particularly interesting multi-diode build on my mind, maybe that instead.

589 ... 589 ... 589! [chanting] :eg:
589's are rewarding and you won't regret it. Plus you have a nice gap in your spectrum, of which 589 can fill. :D

With your options I would go for 589. I'm awaiting one for Christmas and I'm looking forward for it like a kid. :-D

Looks like there's some overwhelming support for a 589:crackup: I'll definitely be looking into it:D Still looking at other options too though.

You have a few nice burners a few nice beamers and with the 638 at some high output coming soon which makes me ask what you truly want the 1W 650 for?
I prefer a good beam over a dot "like most" so getting a 589 would have to be at least 100mw for it to be visibly ok. I don't know how much that would run but would fill a gap in your WL collection.
I don't see any 405's other than maby an ebay pen in your sig.
I would say
44 at 7W
405 at 800mw+
589 at 100mw minimum

Go for the yellow! since you already have a nice green, blue and red, all high power, 589 sure looks nice :D My personal next goal will probably be a high power green, but 500$ is just too crazy for me. ahhh i need more monies :undecided:

I'd say go for the 589. I got bored of the 44 pretty fast. 1 watt of 650 sounds really cool though. An RGB build sounds like a little difficult but if you're up to the task I say do it.
