Aww.... I love bunnies.

Here are some photo's you have probably seen before when I had it as my avatar, but the resolution was much smaller, here is a larger resolution GIF. Shows some of my lasers, many of the hosts built by Ehgemus. All of the large lenses are plano-convex.

Talking about cars, I had a VW Polo for a rental while my truck was in the body shop when I lived in Germany. That thing had a 3 banger with a 5 or 6 speed manual. That thing barely hit ~150 km/h. That was with the engine near redline. The screaming of the engine just about put you to sleep. It also had no guts and took a while to accelerate. I was scared to merge with traffic at times when getting on the autobahn.

I was offered a job in Germany, company car and company paid rent in single family home. They said the car would be a Audi or a Mercedes, once hired and working at their facility, they put me in a uber small VW Polo and the house was a dungy two bedroom converted basement in someones house with a separate entrance.

Nope! I wouldn't do that, that car is far too small! I quit after just two weeks and went back to my old job in Afghanistan. I might have stayed, but not after such high expectations.

To get up to high speeds the three banger does require winding up a fair bit, but unless everyone in Germany drives like an absolute lunatic I'm not sure why you had to redline it. The power comes and goes by that point anyway. I've had no problem merging into motorway traffic with my VW's three banger, which is possibly even less powerful than the one in the Polo as that's bigger than my car.

Of course, UK traffic could be a lot more tame then German traffic - but as you are from the American market, which generally favours much more powerful engines, it probably just seemed overly weak in comparison. If they were truly dangerous they wouldn't be sold, and that's coming from someone who did a substantial stint of motorway (at 70 - just!!) in a Citroen 2cv!

Were you going to be travelling large amounts of miles in the car? Over here the Polo is well regarded - but as a car market we are totally different to the US. In fact, a lot of American born and bred cars just flat out don't work here; the roads aren't big enough, the suspension set up is too wallowy, the engines use far too much fuel and when it comes to build quality in some models GM have a lot to answer for.

Short answer is I am a very big guy, if it wasn't for that, perhaps I could have put up with it.

They are air conditioned :) or, heat if it gets cold, like it does at night here now, but in the day time, that air is really needed to keep them cool. See all of the electrical cables running in front of them, each tent has its own conditioner.

We are on a new thread page now, came back to edit this photo in, really great :)
