Is Lazerer still reliable?

Hold up there, let's not get too ahead of ourselves.

OP, for your uses, at the time being, an Eagle Pair 190-540nm OD4+ will do you for the time being. But IF you venture into more powerful lasers, seriously consider getting a certified pair of goggles. I decided to buy some, and dropped $150 on the product and shipping - which is custom made to fit the goggle - after a strong reflection from my 445 caused a "flash" in my eagle pair. Statistically OD4 should still be enough to deal with it (and my eyesight is FINE) but it opened my eyes (excuse the pun) and made me realise I should not be using something so powerful unless I am behind certified lenses with a goggle that PROPERLY covers my face. I find the Eagle Pair to be a good stopgap - and will be relegated excellent guest glasses soon - but they don't fit snugly enough around the face to seal it from an obscure blast from an odd angle. A goggle like this, will:

Excuse me for the semi rant and for probably sounding like a grandparent, but I just can't believe that people use high powered handhelds behind $10 glasses that for all they know could just be plastic with a coloured coating.

according tho this, OD 2 is the minimum for 100mW of 532, but I agree that if more powerful units (purchased by your parents until you are 18) are in your future, better glasses, at least OD 4 are a better investment

Great tool - thanks - would +rep you if I could

If Adam gets the Ti-B 532/100 a set of JL proper OD eyeware will be included- fine to use until he can afford the better kind-(higher OD and more wavelengths) and he can retire those for 'guest goggles'. I only insist my guests wear them when the leave the 'safe zones' (seated) I keep the beam show as close to the ceiling(coming from front to back) as i can and my abstracts/animations PJs up near the ceiling aiming slightly downwards towards the old movie screen (7X7) that is attached to the ceiling- pretty safe every where but very safe when seated. -- especially since I removed the many mirrors and glass picture frames from the walls in my LR.--

Thanks hak - the guest goggles I'm sure will come in very handy!

However I won't be able to buy that laser unless we can work something out like I discussed in PM or maybe I will just have to wait a while before I can buy it.

Thanks! Keep me posted. :yh:

Since posting this thread I've decided against Lazerer and decided on either a full build by Blord or Thejoker301 OR a host from Mrcrouse and a module from eBay. All 3 sellers have great reps, and are highly recommended over your average Chinese laser company.

We have several members with names very much alike--and sadly one, who happens to be a good member to do biz with has one of those similar names..Big difference between him and Lazerer .. doing a search in the 'feedback' forum is a must if you are not sure about who you plan to deal with.... hk

@ kilter--
'Laserbtb FTW. They are the new Lazerer '

explain please-
are you saying that L.btb IS Lazerer?

we have seen this before- with several 'new' China sellers who actually ALL were DinoDirect

I think he means that Laserbtb is now in the same position as the one Lazerer was in before they turned bad. Now Laserbtb is the advisable first company to buy from. Whereas used to Lazerer, or before that Rayfoss and O-like where the first laser go-to's.

Do you have an LPM? It'd be interesting to know if the "power certificates" actually mean anything...

Okay so i found out that its not 269mW stable with ir filter, but is a true 200 mW overall.
