How many lasers running at your house?

Am I the only one doing this.

I'm all hyped about the Lasos I'm picking up this weekend. So I got all my lasers out (other than handhelds) and started turning them on.

Just for fun and just to see them running.

So, it's 6pm I have to leave by 7pm and what do I have running right now.

100mw DPSS 473
39.8 mw SP-127
40+mw 40ML Argon 488
Green HeNe 543
Yellow HeNe 594
Red HeNe (in addition to one above)

All in the middle of the living room.

I just can't wait to see what my wife says when she walks in.

I would turn on more, but the electrical system is older than the hills and I keep blowing circuits!

So anyone else have this problem?

You should see me on a night where I'm doing mass tests. I can only have a couple on at once, but I have PSUs strewn all over for quicker swapping.

The small HeNes use <20W, and DPSS and SP-127 use <100W. It's the argon. Don't run it so high, and you should be well under the breaker rating.

It is, but when I try hooking another argon up, or run our microwave, etc.
Poof, off goes the electric..

And I REALLY don't like turning off an argon that way. Not a good thing.

But the more the merrier.

Will you count portables? I can turn all of them on at once and have no power consumption worries :D

No power consumption worries, right.

its either $100 extra in electric bill or in double A's you decide.

And if you say they are rechargeable...........they don't do that themselves
:(:na:

Well I'm at college, so technically I already paid the bills, irrelevant to how much power I consume here... though they probably wouldn't be happy about me running an argon :p

I have to turn the auto Air conditioning breaker back on everytime I fire up my argon and it's over 80 Fahrenheit. The maintenance guy just gave me a key and told me what to do after the 2nd time. I'm limited to night runs at those outdoor temps since most of my buildings electronics are shut down and the AC gets the power it needs and I get my pure 120v in

Yeah, people complain about the electric bill when referencing ion lasers. But when you actually do the math, the 1kW to run them only costs 11 cents per hour in most of the US.

i have about 50 handhelds...i dont have enough hands to turn em all on at once, but i do have enough batteries :D

The only time I turn all my handhelds on at once is when I'm trying to do some Lumia... I am looking forward to gas and labbies to heat my house with PSUs. :)
