HEADS_UP -- china closes- Spring Celebration 2015

getting close again to that time when waiting to order from China may be a bad idea IF you are in a rush.. :wtf:
New Year/ Spring Festival 2015

Skip to page 2--

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

***:wtf:

If you waited too long( Like yesterday) to do your biz wiith China- no need to rush now. :tsk:

Most places closed-up the 'shop' and started (IIRC) the second longest holiday celebrated there. The May or Spring festival is now on-going and not much will be done til AFTER May 2 at earliest, so you can add 6 days to what the normal shipping time takes. :yabbmad:

In the fall they have a longer one.

Every country has some of these and while we want ours to continue many will be unhappy (again) about delayed shipping from China-- I thought I had an extra two days- we had to wait on two payments- one arrived and as it was a USPS MO -- we were just short one more to meet the required number.

My tenth buyer paid almost $20 to overnight his bank's MO.
He was not a straggler in any way- He was in a GB a while back and did not know of this one until I brought I to his attention..
He was doing us a favor by just joining this GB..

He offered to get a PJ very quickly after he knew of this GB.

I take al the blame..

In hindsight(20-20) a USPS MO at $1.99 was the better option;)

as my bank teller would not allow instant access to this money- the 48hours it took to clear was just 6 hours too many.. So even tho some sellers on-line stores look totally open-- payments made today will not be really processed for 6 more days..

hak sad.:cryyy:

this is the year of the snake
& we just got snakebit.
:banghead:

I allways wondered if this affects packages already in the shipping process, you know ones already loaded on a barge or plane. Most tracking services out of china will say "processed through sort facility" up until the point that it has been scanned through the receiving side customs, so it is hard to judge exactly where the package lies. Obviously if it still has to be sorted or moved by land in any way it is going to sit until the holiday is over, but that is only half of the shipping process.

well one good thing came of all of this......My wife is expecting some boxes from China. My flame projectors(4) should be arriving from China in next couple of days...I can have them set up and working so when the laser comes in, I can intercept it and sneak it into storage so I won't have to sleep outside with the dogs!

IIRC we do have a member who gets shrink in bulk- I pick up mine at Harbor Freight Tools
some of the drivers sold by members can also be gotten at fair pricing and fast delivery from me or AixiZ.com- remember look at AixiZ stuff at feebay or Amazon but PLEASE place your order at the AixiZ home store (you get more ways to pay=and AixiZ get to keep more of your payment- this can sometime get you a better deal- quicker shipping and perhps a surprize added..) AixiZ also has a toll free number where you can place your orders or ask questions--be sure to mention me and your being a forum member.

No... the hoilday has no effect once in the hands of shippers like DHL EXpress- example- directly after paying and Laserlinna gets our bank transfer and tests all PJs(12 hours of testing)& then get to DHL China
they move like the wind- Miss Linna did the testing= and dhl got out boxes the day AFTER Good Friday( I call it Swell Saturday)-- and MONDAY ( the day after Easter!!) 8 of ten got delivered stateside. it takes longer to send a letter from my house to Houston

YOU Sir have a great attitude.. +3 for the nice post..

"... then make lemonade" comes to mind..

I have posted a long honey-do list that all can spend time of for the greater good on the 'ROG' people..
AND aside from a short thread with the attachment of a Owners guide- the next and all other GBs by me for PJs will be done at ROG.

PM me-- if you want in- or feel you need to know why..

Sorry if you are unhappy with the China holiday-- just think about that while you enjoy MayDay or Cinco De Mayo-- we may 'go all postal' if not for holidays and vacations..

i hope you all have a great weekend and same for the next one..

it may be a kind thing to allow our China friends some peace by simply
NOT emailing until May 2.

;) hazaw

Hey hak thanks for the heads up! I have actually been agonizing on whether or not to add more stuff to my fasttech order or not as well as if I should even order. For me, this comes as a forced "think it over more" moment. And I am fine with that. Knowing an option isn't on the table removes some of the urgency with making an order with anyone from China.

Thanks  and a +1 for you sir!

Thanks for the heads up Len. However this may have been a more helpful thread if it was posted a few days ago.:na:

Yep got all my pending orders out the door yesterday from China as I learned my lesson after the winter holiday delayed some important packages. I check the Chinese holiday calender periodically for possible delay times.:)

Thanks for letting me know,

Susie at O-like mentioned the holiday - but not the length. I paid on Thursday and she shipped the package out on Friday - does this mean it will continue on its happy way here? Or are the postal services shut down as well?

Thanks for any guesstimates...
