Help sourcing XML emitter?

I ordered an XML U3 emitter from fasttech back in Jan, but recently had to start a dispute. They claimed to have sent it, but without tracking. It has now been 48 days and there is still no sign of it. :(

Fasttech did refund me after I started a PP dispute, so its not all bad...

Anyway, I need to order a new XML U3 emitter and was wondering where the best and cheapest place to buy one might be? Have already tried Manafont, DX and Kaidomain, and so any other suggestions would be much appreciated! :thanks: :beer:

Fantastic thanks for that, Ill have a read through.

I might be tempted by a U2 on a copper base...but the only one Ive found is from Ledtech and they charge the earth and then some more for shipping. :( Have you seen them elsewhere? :) :beer:

thanks for the link Ryansoh3! i've got the U3 on its way from fasttect as well as a driver for my first build which is a solarforce L2P, nothing hard but i am going to be putting it in the empty P60 drop in module. I really wanted to do this build with a XM-L2 but all i could really find was the bare emitter. but if i could put it on one of these copper boards then grind it down i just might give it a shot.

Just curious, I saw that the diodes can be run up to 6 A!! :drool: on these copper boards, so maybe I could give it a bit more power...:eg:

At present I have a 3040 mA board from Kaidomain and Im thinking of maybe combining it with a second AMC board at 1050 mA. Do you know whether they can be paralleled if the current is different? Im also guessing youve built a few of these, so have you also got any advice on switches, as I probably have to use a better one if its running at 4 A...;) :beer:

Would if i could i just gave him some not to long ago for turning me onto fasttech. Yeah thanks alot i've spend about $400 over there in like 2 months. but on a bighter note i've been selling those $10 flashights with an 18650 and charger locally for like $60+ :na:

Nice find there! The copper MCPCB is the emitter base (sinkpad), in this case made of copper. Im ordering a couple from here: FS: COPPER mcpcb for XML/XPG High quality boards!!!!!!!!

You need to be able to reflow the LED to the board though...;)

BTW Any ideas whether I can combine 2 AMC drivers in parallel if they have different currents ie 1 A and 3 A or 2 A and 3 A?? Trying to work out how to run these...:eg::beer:

I bought some of these copper pads. They work very well. A XML U2 was soldered to the pad and I have direct drive it with one 26650 cell. It is screaming under 5-6A. :)
They are from the groupbuy in the BLF. Currently they do now the 16mm pad version.

Graide i think when you want a large amount of amps you have to use direct drive drivers. i could be wrong about this though.

I haven't tried that before. If you want massive current, direct drive is the only way and it is also 100% efficient. No driver in between.
