On the diode window, or the lense? i know isopropyl alcohol helps. To clean my 3 element lense, i let them sit in a cap full of it for a couple minutes, then held it with a tweezer and rubbed it on both sides a little, and then let it sit again. to dry it, i touched the corner of a microfiber to it to absorb and then let it air dry. If its on the window, good luck. lol i just popped mine out :p you can try isopropyl alcohol, acetone, or glass cleaner (glass cleaner should work if nothing is baked on it). Otherwise i saw glass etchant at micheals craft that you can try. But because it etches it, i would be VERY, VERY carefell when doing it. like put it on a cutip, touch it, and then immediately clean it off. I havent tried that so use CAUTION because idk how it will do!
if cleaning it doesnt work though, just use a needled or fish hook and carefully pop the window - make sure you get the glass out of the diode though

well does the spot/dirt move when you adjust its focus? make the spot as big as you can, so you can see the spots, and then turn is focus a little bit. if it moves, it's on the lens. if not, there's something in the way or on the window

Just to make it clear, jArdi here means diode's window because he didn't acknowledge this being a GREEN laser in question, which do not have windows on their diodes :p

+Rep for effort, so I am not taken the wrong way or anything.

It's fine! The lens you can see from the outside without any disassembly is the only thing you have to worry about.

Dark Races, yeah just try some rubbing alcohol, the standard common household 70% one will do, but 90% one reccomended.

Also a shot of 40% one inside of you for steadier hands

It's no problems, nice of you to try and help.

Also I'm pretty sure Racer will remember you next time he has to clean a diode's window :D

Racer, let us know how your lens behaves after cleaning. It should be pretty easy and everything should go without problems.

i thought you meant the spot was distorted, but i wasn't sure from the info you gave. just a simple lens cleaning should have you good to go.

Get a mini lens pen for a safe way to clean your lasers lenses. I bought a few nikon for 10 bucks a piece. They;re great for lasers lenses.

Amazon.com: Nikon LensPen Mini Pro II Compact Lens Pen Cleaning System for Digital SLR Cameras: Camera & Photo

Any of you guys able to ship me this set to Austria?

Amazon.com: 1 oz. Formula MC Lens Cleaner: Camera & Photo
Amazon.com: Microdear Microfiber Deluxe Cleaning Cloth, Large, 14.5" x 17.75": Everything Else

I would use your address while checking out at Amazon. Please PM me if you´re willing to help me :)

It would be good if Amazon shipped outside of the US.

Does anyone know how to clean the inside of a module? In one of my WF-501b lasers there is some dust and stuff around the diode, its not effecting the light output or anything but I was just curious if I can get rid of that stuff without damaging the diode, would an air blower work?

I dont want to take anything apart and I don't see the point of using chemicals for something like this because its not actually effecting output

Also would that Alcohol trick work with a G-? Lens?
And does it have to be Isopropanol Alcohol? Can it be other kinds of Alcohol like Metholated or pure Ethanol, doubtful but curious

Thanks
Billy

priority mail flat rate box would be $24 or first class would be $17 (based on it being around 1lbs) they are most likely less than 1lbs so it would prob be less. priority is 6-10 days and first class just says "varies"
8oz would be $13 to give you an idea
it would most likely be closer to 8oz based on amazon shipping weight estimates being 5.1oz then add the weight of the package

First class should be <$15

I did order the lens cleaner from another shop, they were able to ship to Austria :)
