Hey! I am jordan, I really enjoy lasers I have a nice 5mw Purple beam laser I sont rembmer the Nw. But I love it, I got a glow in the dark bored I made myself on my wall were I can shine my laser and draw, etc. I am fascinated by lasers and want to learn more about them! My friends always have thoes basic red lasers that they shine in peoples eyes(Witch I do NOT do) And its pretty cool to bring out a purple laser that is alot bigger and can shine farther, It is also cool for when I go on vacation to point things our to my parents like "You see how that rock is just hanging there" I am vary mature with my lasers, I want to learn about them, Mabie build them. I am not looking for burning lasers though and do not think that I am mature enough or my friends to handle them. I often acedently hit a cup or reflective plasticand hit my eyes on a with my little 5mw and that is enough for me.

I didn't even think of that. Makes me think you know this because you're also under 18

I kinda think there should be an age limit. I have been on other forums and the younger children really seem to stir shit up and not listen to advice when they ask for it.

It is not only up to the underage person to adhere to this but
it can be an easy way of getting an unruly younger member
Perma-Banned just for violating the TOU ... (Terms Of Use)...

Welcome to the forums! I was around your age, maybe younger when I got interested in lasers. I didn't tell anyone my age on the forums (I used to be on another forum) until I was 16, because I figured people wouldn't think a 14 year old is very mature (which was not completely inaccurate). I learned quickly that you have to be very serious about laser and laser safety, which often means NOT letting your friends play with them.

Good start-- being honest about your real age tells me a lot.

Study hard at school-- learn as much as you can about electronics.(and math and all the sciences) Get some kits requiring soldering and learn to be good at that. New inventions using lasers are being made almost daily- it is now said by many that the laser is now a more significant invention than the light bulb(soon to be obsolete)

Study the work of Dr. Sam Goldwasser(Sam's Laser FAQ) and read everything you can about lasers. Good luck to you young man.
