Hi,
This is the camera i use it's a Cannon Elph power shot SD850 IS. there cheaper now this is can older one i had, you can find them on Ebay or some other websites..It has a ton of format options enhancements. I like it a lot ..

I expect to be running about 470nm but what is intriguing me the most is seeing it hit the 6W mark. Has anyone else received one yet that will do that?
Thanks for the pics. That's what I had in mind for my driver also. I have a C and D cell mag and a Dorcy unit I could put this in. Funny that the C cell ended up having a larger heatsink than the D.

HI P,
Hey if yours hit that with no problem then you got a freak. And that you know is great in diodes because it's luck of the draw with what we put these diodes thru. Buddy 6+ i would be grateful and it;s not cooled by any outside source. And remember my cells were not fully charged and i didn't cool it either. So that might be about right. Be happy with what you have achieved with the dye. It could be worse my man.. If it specs to 470+ your ahead of the game..

Usually the high efficiency diodes are the ones with lower wavelength shift. Would be interesting to get yours spectro'd.

Well I'll tell you this. I just compared one of my 2.2W 464nm to this one and there's no comparison. Makes the 464nm look almost purple and the 464nm besides any other regular blue I have makes all of them look purple. The color is WAY lighter than the 464nm. Night and day difference.
Looks to me like I get my cake and can eat it too;)

I'm done with my build:) Put it in the Dorcy flashlight which I have never seen any use before. Absolutely love it.
Yeah, I know, pics. I'll have to do it later as it is 10:10 AM here now and I have a LOT of stuff I have to do today.

Here's a pic of the Dorcy with it's GITD rings that I'm leaving on it. My build used (2) 18490 with a spacer and the host has a nice side on/off button:

Hi P,
Nice build gotta love the diode the dorcy is sweet side button. I see you have maglight builds i think there the best to modify and for heat sinking there the best with a huge piece of AL or CU. I really like taking the switch out and modding it to be wired .

Thanks. I'll see if I can post the build pics and I néed to take a few beam shots tomorrow. Built it this morning and just when I finished my son arrived and we needed to put a flex piece of pipe in his exhaust and that took awhile. Then ended up way behind on regular stuff I had to do like laundry and dishes and mail and this that and the other thing and then my wife came home.
Because of my kidney issues I overdid it and have been in bed with a heating pad under my back.
Good news came in the mail though about my shoulder injury. Not that anyone really cares about all that lol

this may not matter to some, for efficiency

v×a = actual watts
watts of light/actual watts × 100 = %efficiency

03.6v 0.42a giving 0.001w
0.001÷(3.6×0.42)×100 = 0.066137566%

03.7v 0.60a giving 0.263w
0.263÷(3.7×0.60)×100 = 11.846846847%

03.9v 0.80a giving 0.606w
0.606÷(3.9×0.80)×100 = 19.423076923%

04.0v 1.00a giving 1.263w
0.928÷(4.0×1.0)×100 = 23.2%

04.1v 1.20a giving 1.263w
1.263÷(4.1×1.2)×100 = 25.670731707%

from the pictures, the efficiency raises, nearing peak at

04.1v 1.40a giving 1.587w
1.587÷(4.1×1.4)×100 = 27.648083624%

04.2v 1.60a giving 1.895w
1.895÷(4.2×1.6)×100 = 28.199404762%

04.3v 1.80a giving 2.217w
2.217÷(4.3×1.8)×100 = 28.643410853%

dips slightly at
04.4v 2.00a giving 2.501w
2.501÷(4.4×2.0)×100 = 28.420454545%

PEAKS at
04.4v 2.20a giving 2.792w
2.792÷(4.4×2.2)×100 = 28.842975207%

and drops off after that

04.5v 2.40a giving 3.060w
3.060÷(4.5×2.4)×100 = 28.333333333%

undips slightly back up
04.5v 2.60a giving 3.329w
3.329÷(4.5×2.6)×100 = 28.452991453%

drops significantly

04.6v 2.80a giving 3.592w
3.592÷(4.6×2.8)×100 = 27.888198758%

04.6v 3.00a giving 3.831w
3.831÷(4.6×3.0)×100 = 27.760869565%

04.7v 3.20a giving 4.059w
4.059÷(4.7×3.2)×100 = 26.988031915%

04.8v 3.40a giving 4.312w
4.312÷(4.8×3.4)×100 = 26.421568627%

4.825÷(4.9×4.0)×100 = 24.617346939%

05.0v 4.20a giving 4.955w
4.955÷(5.0×4.20)×100 = 23.595238095%

05.0v 4.42a giving 5.040w
5.040÷(5.0×4.42)×100 = 22.805429864%

05.1v 4.60a giving 5.084w
5.084÷(5.1×4.6)×100 = 21.670929241%

rollback

05.1v 4.80a giving 5.081w
5.081÷(5.1×4.8)×100 = 20.755718954%

05.1v 5.00a giving 5.053w
5.053÷(5.1×5.0)×100 = 19.815686275%

05.2v 5.36a giving 4.166w
4.166÷(5.2×5.36)×100 = 14.946900115%

this frequency seems to be on or near a photosynthetic peak of chlorophyll a.
3d scanner for leaf tracking, spinning mirrors/lenses for splitting/switching beam, beam splitters, laser pulses, maybe efficient. iimagine if you could grow with quantum entangled laser beams and different polarizations or spiral polarizations.

If these can stand up to 4.8 amps and dish out 6w that's awesome because the divergence produces 2/3 the line width of the nubm44 through a 3 element lens, and there's no can window to crack.

I'm still running my 07E @ 3.5 amps and it looks night and day next the 445-450 diodes, my nubm44 I have @ 4.5 amps, but my 07E at 3.5 amps makes lots of waste heat.

What kind of duty cycle will you be running it at, and are you not using any ramp up at all?

It seems like diodes evolve slightly over their production life, my later 7875's seem a little hotter but the central hot spot is more spread out at max burning distance, anyway maybe the 07E is evolving as more are produced?

It's just a theory.

I have been getting some less than positive feedback for these running currents 4A-5A for long periods of time from some of the projector guys. I have had a few different people report gradual losses of power over time and one guy watch three of them gradually drop in power till they one by one eventually went zombie @ 4.5A after about 40 hours. They are tough but we may be pushing them too hard or there is some degradation from not having the cap on. Maybe a combination of the two.:(

I appreciate your candor, I think it's better to not push it at absolute max and enjoy it a lot longer.
I got one of the 1st 07E diodes you listed, and I use it for leaf burning out my window until the heavy heat sink I have it in gets quite warm.
I have used it a lot and it's still kicking azz nicely, I never even tested it with the Gball on, I popped it off straight away and pressed it into a copper module. The color at night is fantastic!
I have always run it @ 3.5 amps, and based on the by product heat it makes I think that's a good place to keep it.

I pushed mine hard at 4 amps (or was it 4.5? Probably.) a few months ago and it died after just a few uses, but my batteries weren't firmly touching together inside the host causing rapid on-off when I wiggled the host, that killed the diode but the driver was a soft start driver, shouldn't have done that.
