Do you carry your laser as self defense at night?

I'm sure a 1W 445nm laser would would very well as a self defense weapon.
Not against someone with a gun though.
If I saw sombody running at me or someone that was about to try to hit me with a blunt object or a knife, I would pull out my laser and shine in right in his eye.
Very quick eye damage, they might not be hurt but they can't see shit.

Would you whip out your glasses with the other hand while defending against a blow so you didn't do equal damage to yourself in the melee?
Do you practice this move in your basement in your underwear by chance?

It would defently not be equal damage lol.
A direct hit with a 1w laser is a bit worse then looking at his face with a dot on it.
It would work best if he was farther away, he would never get close lol, you could just walk backwards while pointing it at him.

Has anyone ever thought of using a low-powered and defocused laser (which does not cause permanent eye injury) against dogs instead of those ultrasounds tools?

I wont go into a drawn out explanation of self defense situations but most situations occur within 3 feet and are sudden and unexpected.
Since you're using the laser as a self defense tool you might want to look at FBI statistics for hand gun usage.
Don't think for a second that while you're lasing his face at kissing distance that it isn't going to get smacked around and possibly end up in your face, or up your ass.

Clearly you've given this some thought. So here's a helping hand...

I can't wait to read about you in the news.....

"In an unusual turn of events an ordinary mugging went wrong, VERY wrong. The victim attempted to defend himself with a laser pointer. The attacker took said laser pointer and stuck the laser into the victim's rectum, but not before poking the victim in the eyes with it. The attacker got away, presumably with minor eye damage sustained during the assault. The victim meanwhile is being treated for severe eye damage, and laser burns to his rectum."

If you have time to pull your laser out, you had time to run. Also maglites are very good for self defense. I know a girl who self defense classes on how to use a maglite to protect yourself. Some crack head lady tried robbing her at NorthPark Mall in Dallas with her high heel shoe... YA, no lie. My friend just got in her car when it happened. The girl grabbed her arm so she burned her with the cig and then took the maglite to the idiots chin. Smacked the end of the light and down went the girl. To me the perks adrenaline would allow them to over power you if your just standing there pointing a light in their face. She's also been mugged by 2 guys, the maglite saved her butt. She busted one guys jaw and the other up side the head. Gave her enough time to run away.

Last i heard a laser beam to the eye isnt exactly painful. So it would take the perk a bit of time to stop. In that period of time you could get ruined...

Re: Do you carry your laser as self defense at nig

Instead of just a laser I carry one of these when I walk around at night [smiley=evil.gif] i think it's a but more intimidating than a laser. if I was a mugger I wouldn't want to try to mug a guy crazy enough to walk around with swords ;D

Dude, for starters, those blades are zinc alloy, which is why they are so shiny. secondly, they're un-sharpened. third, the freaking hamon is machined on. fourth, the sageo looks like low quality cotton. Fifth, and I can't stress this enough, most traditional katanas lack inlays as you have to actually chisel them into the blade, and not cast them as those blades were. Those are display swords. They're props. Im guessing maybe two hundred some bucks depending on the site you ordered them from.

well, for starters, no, I did not sign up for that purpose. secondly, there isn't an expiration date on the comment so the date is irellevant. my opinion should be of zero concern to you.

Anybody resurrecting a forum thread this old with fewer than 50 posts should be instantly banned. No exceptions. It'd also be nice if these old threads auto-locked after a year.

I don't agree... the interest of a topic can not be related to the novelty or the date (obviously also depends on the kind of topic). So I'm also in favor to resurrecting a thread older than 5 years if a guy adds significant information.

PS: I apologize for the OT.

Maybe auto lock after six months of inactivity on the thread. Not based on the OP, but rather on the last post.

This wasn't so much a necropost, though... more of a retarded post.
