Surprised about watermark, mine were very large about 3" in diameter, not centered but very evident.

For anyone reading this who has ever tracked a vehicle or an aircraft...YOU are the problem and the reason this potentially wonderful hobby can be (and will be) outlawed.

I feel for you. Some FDA pencil-neck that gets his jollies off by playing God with the tiny bit of power he has been given, has your balls in his hands. Not a good situation.

If he sounds like a jerk right off the bat, you most likely are in for a rough time of it. The only reason for him to be an ass about it right off the bat on the phone is because he knows he can ruin a life and likes to do it. I feel your pain.

I would never wish anyone harm but it really irks me that people like Danny boy here get their rocks off by intentionally destroying people's lives. It makes one almost wish cancer or something like this on Danny or his close family. Almost, but then I realize anyone working for the FDA or FCC are not human so they can't contract anything like that.

I dont think the guy is being an ass hole just to be an ass hole.... he's not trying to play god by shutting down Mohrenberg's website.

He's just doing his job. I'm sure he didn't hand pick Moh's website, it was probably handed to him by a superior. Everyone has to make a living.

I think I'm going to move on. You can talk until you are blue in the face, yet every retard like this yahoo has to pipe in about how the man is oppressing those who violate the law. It's easy to talk like a big man when your ass isn't on the line. You'd be pissing your pants if you were facing up to a $250,000 fine. This forum lately has been overrun with ignorance and I don't care to be around it. I guess the change over is about as good a point to make a clean break as any. For you laser professionals out there (you know who you are), I'll see you around the neighborhood.

This is a setback, without a doubt. But there are still many ways to enjoy this hobby without breaking the law as well as the possibility of building and selling lasers that meet federal requirements. The smartest, most responsible members of this forum are indispensable. Every effort that is made to educate people makes the community stronger. Don't take the ignorance personally.

Oh come now Frosty, don't let a few yahoos get ya down. You're the man, we need your knowledge, and most of us certainly try to listen to you and heed your knowledge, advice, and experience. It would be a very sad say for LPF and it's users to lose you. Pretty pretty please? With a cherry on top? (unless you don't like cherries, in which case maybe a nice cigar and a fine whiskey on top, as you mention in your sig?)

All you can hope for now (which I have no doubt that they will do) is for them to not press charges. It simply isn't worth them going after you especially if you have already removed all of your site. Just comply with whatever they ask for, UNLESS it specifically breaks another agreement (for instance, you are on shaky ground if they demand names and addresses of customers). They will almost certainly not press charges once they have your cease and desist agreement in writing, but just in case, be careful to keep records. Also, you will probably be monitored for several years regarding this - they will probably be watching to see that you do not "relapse". I'm not aiming to scare or state the obvious, but it is almost certainly what will happen. Good luck!

Edit: Frosty, you have always been a font of knowledge - please don't deprive the forum as a whole for the actions of that annoying minority. Hmm, where have I heard that before?

If you took your site down right after you saw them snooping around it might have gone a lot easier. I think he is probably pissy cause he has to deal with such little operations. I'd be pissed too having to tool around such small potatoes. I'm sure there is a mountain of paperwork that needs to be filed also. Sorry if I didn't believe your first thread. If it happened to me I would have dumped everything, site and LPF, for a while. The fact that you didn't made me suspicious. But hind site is always 20/20. Good luck Matt.

Anyway, Frothy has a point, there has been a lot of ignorance around here lately . Maybe it's due to all the new members though. Everyone has to start somewhere I guess ... Maybe they should start by reading up on the FAQs as well as reading some laws !
