25mW of 490ish awesomeness. This is officially my new EDC laser.

A Sharp GH04850B2G on a Micro FelxDrive 5 @ 75mw running on a 10280 battery in a stainless AAA host .

I love this little host. It is only 3.55 inches long and 0.487 wide. It has great feel to it; very hefty for it's size. I really like the metal clicky button. There just isn't quite enough room to fit a module with FlexDrive and still use the AAA battery. I opted for a 10280 (2/3 AAA) and everything fits, but it's a tight squeeze. I turned the copper module down a bit and machined a little spacer to house the driver.

My next build is a PLT5450B putting out 155mW of 450nm on a Micro FlexDrive 5 set at 260mW. This seems like a really inefficient diode. It's in a NEBO Tools 5872 CSI Edge 90 Flashlight

I love the look and feel; Lots of angles and facets with a rubberized grip, but I won't build in this host again. It is very cheaply made, using press-fit plastic inside instead of threaded parts. This definitely made it difficult to disassemble the head.

I'm having way too much fun learning how to use my dividing table.

That 490 is perfect! Great job and thanks for sharing the write-up.
I've got a couple of these hosts, but the battery is definitely the critical part for space-saving here. If you don't mind - where did you source the 10280? Ali-B is about the only option I'm seeing (grr).
That spacer is great, too!! Wonder if you might be willing to take some of money in exchange for a couple :)

LewDude, Finding the batteries was challenging. I really wanted some quality AWs, but they seem to be nonexistent anymore. I ended up finding a seller on dhgate.com that was offering a 4 pack.
My machining skills are sub-par at best. You would do better finding someone who actually knows what he is doing.

Richie89, I'd love to see the internals of the sanwu pocket. What battery is it using?

Nice job T_Warne. Those are some cool little lasers.
Looks like you did a good job on the EDC - sub-par machining skills seem to be enough for this job. :D

The 450nm build looks really nice! i really like the way the thick beam comes out almost perfectly out of the fancy cap on the top...
Really well made! :gj:
