Would like a cheap as chips laser power meter :D Got a batch of lasers and would like to test their individual powers without going overboard on the price ::) Any recommendations? Im in the UK too. Cheers

I would definitely recommend the LaserBee I - Here's a link:

http://www.bauer-electron.com/eby/eby1wlpm.htm

Allows accurate measurement of all wavelengths without the hassles of optical correction up to just over 1 watt, and costs hundereds (and hundreds) less than others.

Do a little poking around the forum and you'll find Jerry has an incredible reputation, as do his LPM's

I've got a LASERBEE also, & I stand behind everything DALE said about the meter & JERRY. Jerry is a HELL of a nice guy & he has wonderfully accurate meters for a LOT LESS than you'd pay ANYWHERE else...........rob

Thanks for the kudos guys.... much appreciated.. ;)

@romeo02045....
What wavelengths and powers are your lasers that you want to test.. :-?

How well does the laser bee read 400-420nm?

Cause I have a couple year old Coherent lasercheck that really sucks at reading my violet lasers.

I think that Day is still selling his laser power meter. It's made by Kenom.

Yes... the LaserBee I + Thermopile can read the blu-ray 405nm wavelength with no problem....
It uses a Thermopile Sensor as opposed to the Photo Sensor of the LaserCheck... 8-)

If you want, I have an accurate calorimeter-based meter arriving tomorrow, and am also in the UK (London). If you wanted to send me any for testing, I'd be happy to do so, for the shipping costs only. If not, then I can recommend the LaserBee.

It looks good to me,  I just bought one though the shipping is a little insane.

Hey gecko991...
                       I just saw your post....
why didn't you contact us before purchasing your Deluxe LaserBee I + Thermopile...
We did not know that you were a member on LPF...

How does a $20.00 (this time only) Shipping refund sound... ;)
If you don't want it let us know..... ::) ::)
