WTB: dragon lasers10x beam expander.

Just bought a spartan 300 and I'd really like a beam expander to go along with it. Please Pm me if you are thinking about selling one. Any information on where I could buy an alternative 10x or greater expander that can be screwed onto a spartan would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin, if you can't find the Dragon Lasers 10X beam expander, you probably could go with the Jetlasers 10X beam expander with a simple threaded adapter.

J/L's 10X B.E.'s are only $99.00, and with an adapter made by any of the competent machinists here at LPF, you'd probably still be within your budget.

Edit: You may be able to get a better deal on J/L shipping if you contact hakzaw, as he is running a J/L group buy now.

The only beam expander I've seen from Dragon Lasers is 2 X not 10 X. I bought one from a member here but can't figure out how to unscrew the face of the host without scratching the hell out of it to put the expander on.

Bought the Dragon Lazer 2X. I too was underwhelmed.

Do have a JL 10X. Beautiful, works great and was quite happy with the $99 I paid for it.

Those fronts of the Spartan lasers are a serious pain to remove in some cases. What I did was right after taking a shower, while still having stiff hands from the warm water, unscrew it with my bare hands. It takes a lot of force but you should be able to do it. The Spartan I sent you should have an easily removable front cap though.

Yes Dragon L made 10× beam expanders like in the last pic below..''far right'' on a nice polished Spartan host
They were hard to get back then, and still now.

Taking the front cap of is easy, getting the module out is a bit harder, as the module is hold tight with a ring ontop, against a slight bumped edge below the neck of the host, where the battery spring ends to firmly keep the module in place.
The ring is ofc threaded, (more info then you need really) with goops of glue holding it in place, thus getting in between the threaded threads aswell.
Removing this ring wich one looks upon when having the front cap removed, is the real pain... as you might screw up the threads couse of the glue holding this ring and module in place.

Add some tritium under a transparant silicone tailcap button.

What i really dig as of now myself, are some of those big phat lenses i've seen lately on LPF....
Don't really know the name, or reason behind it.... but i digg them
