17:53 of pure win...

Have you seen the segment on PBS's "can we live forever"
They use one of these methods to grow fully functioning lungs and transplant them into a rat, and it lives.
They also show a heart that they regrew.

I hope I live long enough to enjoy this technology.

Me too. Lord knows the the damage I caused in the follies of my youth...

To be honest, I cant see us being far off. Technology has literally exploded if you make
a comparison to 25 years ago. The $ involved in such research and the desire
of most people to live an extended life is a major driving force.

My only concern would be, what happens when we no longer get old, and the population
goes haywire?

We spend more time and resources on war, things could be so much better if
that was not a point of focus. All I can hope for is living long enough to see the outcome... granted its a good one :undecided:

Same thing that's always happened historically when resources become scarce.

War.

That, and the eventual split in the evolution of society into different classes, essentially different species.

Technology/research is progressing faster now then ever before, and the increase in the speed of progress is growing exponentially.

Ultimately, while I expect I will see some miraculous progress made in my lifetime, I highly doubt that I will ever be able to afford it.

I expect that it will be an option only for about 0.00000001% of the population.
