I notice two things:

The "clip" is actually two clips hooked together at right angles. When one is emptied, you pull the empty and simply rotate the next into position and slam it in place.

Back in the day, we did this with green duct tape

I saw the double clips ducked together to faster reloading ,
But I see only one single clip there (kinda hard to focus on the clip, you know...)!
