Yes, the laser is still in-spec but that is bullshit advertising.
Nice review anyways..

Great laser!!!! Nice output. 1) I don't know what these guys are talking about saying that it is underspec. The website clearly states the output range of this laser to be 500-1000mW. This laser IS IN SPEC. Did you guys read the technical specs for this laser? I've noticed lately that people either do not know the listed specs of the lasers or they just refuse to acknowledge them because the laser is listed as 1000mW instead of
"500-1000mW Kryton" I guess it can be pretty confusing.
It would actually be more like buying a car that has 250-500 HP. But yes that is a good analogy. 2) If I were buying a car and I saw it listed in the paper as "500HP Sports Car" and then read the article explaining that the horsepower could be anywhere between 250HP-500HP then I would make my decision to purchase the car with the expectation that it would be in that range. If it was not in that range then there would be an issue.
3) I just reviewed my E3 from WL and it is 160mW....am I pissed off that it is not 300mW? no. I read and accepted the fact that it would be between 150-300mW.
Let's stop talking about cars and beer. Let's just stick with the lasers.
If you are claiming that none of the Krytons are 500-600mW or 850-1000mW then you are mistaken. They sell Krytons with output powers all over the range of 500-1000mW. It would make sense that the majority have an output that falls in the middle.4) That actually supports the argument that the range they have listed is accurate. If the majority had an output of 500-750mW then I would be more concerned with the accuracy of the published range.
500-1000mW? thats like buying a car with 100-500 HP
1) When a company advertises that there product is a 1Watt output
Laser and it is NOT then their advertised Laser output is a LIE...
2) If I were buying a car that was advertised as 500HP I would expect
the car to output 500HP. If it did not... It is a LIE.
If the seller adds small print to cover the fact that his car will never
output 500HP then he is a crook and/or Thief...
3) If you are not pissed off because you Laser outputs ~50% of what
was advertised for the 300mW the price then I'm happy for your accepting
nature.
I would be pissed off because my money would still be worth 100%
of it's value and I would expect a 100% advertised output Laser...
Even Lazerer can do it.....
4) If they listed their range as 1mW to 2000mW for the Krypton would
you still feel satisfied paying 100% of the asking price and receiving a
10% output Laser....
Come on Yob....
They are asking Full Price Payment for a 1Watt laser that could be as
low as 500mW (according to their fine print).
Why should one customer get a 1000mW Laser for a Full 1W payment
and another customer should get a 500mW Laser for the same price of
a 1000mW Laser...
Do you see that simple logic...
The way you are sticking up for WL is starting to making me think there
may some yet unknown underlying reason...:undecided:
The long and the short of it is.... WL Advertises a 1Watt Laser for a
1Watt price and you could end up with a 500mW Laser and the customer
is expected to be happy and swallow that BLATANT RIPOFF...
Jerry
It's time to put down the torch
I think it should also be noted that Wicked Lasers is spending advertising dollars on this very forum. They have an Ad at the very top that I'm very sure everyone has seen for the Krypton 1W.
It's like biting the hand that feeds the forum, constructive criticism I can see; but when you don't even have their product and keep slamming them...........well it seems pointless.
Hooray for me...
Sry...
:shhh:
Nice review btw..
