Just received my PD pro about 5 mins ago!! very pleased...:D from ordering it to it arriving took 6 days...:)

Had to pay £24 ($38) customs charge when it arrived though, which has kinda P*ssed me off a bit... useless government sticking their fingers into everything...:yabbmad:

Anyway review and pics to follow shortly...

Yes, they can get them into the US with ease. I don't know if there will be units left in May :(

Yeah that sucks, I had to pay $76.00 for mine (pesos) despite their marking it as low value :(

Re: Wicked Lasers Clearance Sale!

Are these still available?

Re: Wicked Lasers Clearance Sale!

I just got my PD Pro. I didn't even know it was sent :P

I have a few questions.
1. Is the tailcap supposed to be about half a revolution loose (so the off-on indicators match with the dot)? I'm assuming it is, since if it was supposed to be screwed on tight it'd be harder to turn off/on.
2. I haven't gotten it powered on yet, can't find my battery charger :( It's positive end first, right?
3. The front glass lens rattled a bit, so I screwed on the cap a bit tighter and the rattling stopped. I won't damage the O-Ring by screwing it on tighter, right?

Sorry for the newbie questions, this is my first waterproof laser :P

EDIT: It's my birthday today, so UPS had great timing on their delivery :D

EDIT2: I got it powered on. It's negative end first for anyone else wondering :P
The tailcap isn't aligned with the dot for some reason, so "ON" and "OFF" are on the opposite side of the dot on the main body. It doesn't bother me, but I don't think it's supposed to be that way :P

Re: Wicked Lasers Clearance Sale!

Did anyone who purchased a Titan find a power adapter for it? The Techlasers book says that the adapter is 3.6V. The Laserglow adapter for the Hercules is 3.0 V at 3A. Incidentally, the Titan is exactly the dimensions of the Hercules. It certainly appears to be CNI's generic version of the Hercules. It does appear that Laserglow has custom mods on their version. Either way, this is an incredible Louisville Slugger of a laser. It's just under 15 inches in length and the head/heat sink is 2 inches in diameter. The tail is 1 5/8 inches in diameter. I have not metered mine yet; but the beam is extremely bright (way brighter than my CNI PGL III-250 which peaks over 300mW. I'll take some pics and beam shots this weekend. It appears that 6 of us got something really special for $450. Bill

Re: Wicked Lasers Clearance Sale!

yes sirrrr!!!! i sent mine too a well known member for a review...we may see results tonight..

Re: Wicked Lasers Clearance Sale!

I don't know for sure what kind of power adapter is needed but I would think that the voltage requirements should be the same as what the batteries are providing. The adapter that laserglow sells has multiple settings 3.0v, 4.5v etc. I have tried the hercules I had on both the 3.0v and the 4.5v and both worked. Since it operates on 3D cell batteries that is 4.5v. So, anything above 3v should work I'd think.

Incidentally, I've had my Titan apart and taken a look at the module and the fan inside. Very easy to dissasemble. I'm having an issue with my beam being really large and even to the point of mode hopping at a distance. The beam is clearly small and nice up close but even 20 feet out, the beam gets much bigger and splits into 2 beams tem01

Re: Wicked Lasers Clearance Sale!

Mine is definitely in TEM00. The beam looks tight. I'll put it on the meter this weekend. Bill

Re: Wicked Lasers Clearance Sale!

I hope you find a solution Kenom, because as of now, my Evo pro 130 is twice the burner then my Titan is. The beam/dot on my Titan gets really big really fast. I've been keeping really short duty cycles so I don't hope mode it but it still has a horrible divergence.

Good luck on finding a solution.

Re: Wicked Lasers Clearance Sale!

Quite happy with my PD Pro so far, I think the cold weather is affecting it a lot, but other than that it seems to be about the right power (compared to my old 15mW Executive, I don't have laser measuring equipment), and the beam is slightly visible indoors. Will have to test burning with a lens once the weather gets a bit warmer. It's freezing cold inside now.
