i'd say paintball is a tad more realistic. Paintballs hurt a bit more and in my book that makes it more realistic.

but they don't kill you. paintball is a flashy sport, with motocross jersyes, and anodizing. airsoft guns replicate the real thing.

Uh, i actually have a 1911, an M92SF and a HI-CAPA 3.8 ..... all gas types ..... plus some assorted spring-types "toys" ..... wondering to found a desert eagle and an automag, gas type, but no way, for now ..... maybe in future

Paintball isn't supposed to be realistic, it's supposed to be a game, not war recreation.
Personally I like paintball better.

If you shoot the person properly with a real gun, it doesn't have to be painfull.
