What voltage input for Jib 1.8a driver?






You need to power that driver with two lithium ion cells.
 
Sorry to hi-jack the thread.
i do have a 1.25A jib driver and as known there isn't any diode to prevent battery reverse polarity. i am wondering if it is ok to add a diode across the LD+ & LD-?

Correct, +/- LD is for the Diode.

i manage to add a diode (1N4148) across the LD+/-.

Jib's driver require a min. of 6V to work but with 1 CR123 the diode can still power and lit-up but not as bright with 2 CR123 in series.

When he says "min. of 6V to work" he means "min. of 6V to work as intended - in regulation"

The maximum continuous forward current for the 1N4148 diode is 200ma.

It is NOT suitable for the high current.

Look for a 2 amp Schottky diode for your setup.

if have you any of those little flashlight circuit boards from DX there are SS24, SS34 shottky diodes on those...
you can use them :) they are SMD and smaller than yours but you will be able to fit them :)
