What is your internet connection speed?

Here, more or less always the same result.

^^ I wouldn't trust any site that lies about the ping

I guess 0ms is somewhat optimistic, but since it is a fiber optic line from mi home and until the servers,
and that servers are at only about 6 km or less, the usual ping here is between 3-5 ms.

As regards the download and upload speed, these are acurate, I checked it several times with differents types of files.

Talk about unrealistic connection test lol. I have a 1000Mbps connection about 30 feet away lol. IMO speed tests should be done at somewhere around 200-400 miles which is short enough to show the high end of the capability yet far enough so that you see the real world speed of your connection. Who cares how quickly you can download from next door when you will never actually use a connection for that short of range you know?

@Blord;

HOLY F**KING SPIRITS what the absolute h*ll is that?!
If I had your connection... I'd download entire Pirate Bay's inventory probably.

With my similarly fast connection to Blord's(~160Mbps) I have been downloading about 750GB a week now. Luckily I currently have 14.25TB of storage so I can keep that rate up for a while :D

In Australia, regarding the national broadband network (NBN for short), the current labor government are rolling out fiber to the property (aka FTTP) at the moment. BUT i fear the liberal governments plan, if they get in they are going to can FTTP and attempt fiber to the node (FTTN). Thats if they dont can the NBN all together :(

Luckily for me, my new house that is getting built already has fiber run to it :D:D

At the moment people are achieving 100Mbit and NBNco plan to offer 1Gbit in December!

Gonna be mad pissed if lib wins and scraps it. They're already rolling it out in my area though, so hopefully maybe they'll get it done before worst case :(

Me too! what category are you in on the website?

In category 1, " Construction to commence within one year - we will commence construction in your area from Sep 2013 in phases with last construction scheduled to commence in Dec 2013*."

With a bit of luck, might be available by the end of next year :p

i pray for you! then we can send ridiculous sized files to each other, like a monkey slings poop!

LOL, I can stick some servers in my room and start my own game hosting company :D

Lol I am working on setting up a Minecraft server with my brothers. Hopefully we can bring in some cash.

A server, or a server host? A few friends and I have been running a minecraft server for a while now, but we were considering going out and hosting them too, but the colocation costs for even a single rack are pretty crazy.

We are going to run the server from a custom made dedicated server at my house. I have 170Mbps down and 40Mbps up so I should be able to handle a good number of people.

I have also run servers on hosts but this time I have the internet at home capable of it.
