Lets just pretend for a second that you could get any laser color you wanted at any power for free. In other words, power and price don't matter right now. With that in mind, please answer the following poll. It would be interesting to see what people like. (Please try and avoid the 'other' option. If you check it I won't know what color your talking about. I don't think I missed any Colors, but if I did, then you can check it.)

Though my fav colour is blue in real life, Green is my favorite laser colour, all because of the visibility. If blues were the same visibility as green, then it would be blue

A deep, cool (in the sense of "cool water on a hot day) blue is a real dream...a bit "bluer" than sapphire maybe.

Besides that, a bright orange beam...send a trail of fire into the night sky...*sigh*

If mixing colours were possible, I'd like some odd mixed non-spectral color like brown.
would also be cool if grey were possible, although I doubt that.

I don't think you could get brown, it would probably look like an orange-y red only dimmer ;D

yea, brown isn't exactly a mixture of colors in visible light, it's more of a lack of colors, but when it comes to paints, white is the natural background color, so you have to mix things dark to make it.

imagine if black were the background color (this is more like imagining the visible spectrum) painting brown would be easier, less color needed. which is why a brown laser shouldn't exactly be feasible. because combining laser colors gets things generally lighter, not black.

besides, if you want to make brown, all you gotta do is get some orange laser, some red laser, some yellow laser, and then DARKEN IT!!! let me know when you accomplish this, only THEN will be close to making our "black laser" lol ;D

but technically, brown is just a shade of orange

Since we're discussing laser colours here, does anybody know what color green+blu-ray would give? :-/

assuming you collimated them perfectly, and also used equal color ratios, it would be a slightly deeper blue, like between indigo and blue.

My favorite is cyan @ 500 to 505nm (blue-green), but I haven't seen that color with a laser.
