What happened to Dr. Lava?

I placed an order on June 7th for an item that is in stock. It is now June 30th with nothing in hand. I have a build waiting on this. I could have used a Rkcstr or Jib driver but I chose a Groove2 and now I am stuck waiting.
I have messaged him twice now.
The first time he replied that he would ship the driver the following day which he obviously did not.
The second time he decided to simply ignore my message.
I strongly recommend getting your goods through one of his distributors. You may be waiting indefinitely if you order from him.

i might have a rkcstr or groove 2 you could have. i'm not sure if it works. it came attached to a lpc i got from dave. i have killed the diode but the driver should still work.
and by "might", i am really unorganized so i dont know where it is. but i will look tomorrow.

Sweet. I have a LCC diode sitting here (in heatsink) if you need it. I am still hopeful that I will eventually get the driver. I don't know, I just didn't expect this from the good doctor.

also it doesn't help that lavas only rep got a temp ban =(


sigh... i wish ryan would build a compact boost driver. i think its only fair since lave builds a linear.

Yeah definitely. I also wish Ryan's linear driver went up to...say 600mA

I have resistors for 601mA on my driver ... close enough? Im also working on a boost driver. :)

Yeah my hopes and dreams are riding on jib creating a boost drive. His linear drivers are still awesome though.

I just don't like to bend over and pull out the lube every time I want to order a decent boost driver....call me crazy. You would think they would of gotten cheaper over the last 3 years....not more expensive.
 
Andrew decided last year some time that he was only going to sell to and through distributors. I am surprised that he is still taking orders on the website.

I am not excusing him. He has the Groove listed as "in stock" AND he was aware of the order via your email. Once accepted, the order should have been forthcoming.

If no one has taken care of you yet, I have a couple of Grove2's on hand.

I've seen this on multiple Forums....

DrLava doesn't seem to be interested in selling his Drivers
anymore.... It seems to be a burden for him to answer
customer questions and follow up on what he offers and
sells...

I don't get it.... That's not how you do business...:undecided:
He's got good products but doesn't seem to care...

If I was no longer interested in selling LPMs or any product
for that matter... I would at least say so and stop offering
my products and stop pulling my loyal customers around by
the nose and keeping them in the dark...

It is not only on this Forum that his customer service is
lacking...

I've never been a big fan of the doctor. Since I joined in October, ordering from him has ALWAYS been a PITA. He never once answered a single email, he never once got my orders delivered to my house in less than 3 weeks. nd for whatever reason I was stupid to keep ordering from him. I spent $200+ on orders from him within a month. That might be chump change to him, but that's a lot of money for me.

It is very clear he doesn't care about his customers, it is very clear that he does NOT care at all about anybody not spending $1000 dollars +.

He isn't a good business man, and I hope we find another alternative, so maybe then it will hurt his wallet a little and he will start giving a rats @$$ about his customers.

This is not to forgive him. However, you came on just as he was preparing for his defense and after he decided to only deal through distributors. You came on just as the the problems with his customer service became a reality. Drlava used to have a good reputation and was responsive to his customers.
