It's worth trying, if you're not trying to ignite things but rather project on clouds then you may want to set your 3E/G7 to an infinity focus, the single element is cleaner for yard burning work as seen through my safety glasses, it makes a clean line where as the 3E makes a shadow, but you may like the 3E for cloud spotting, try it and see, I like the 7mm long barrel G7 as it seems to be a different lens grind than the 9mm long lens barrel G7, you will only catch a few threads but it holds fine, I also had Lifetime17 make me some threaded disc and he can make you a heatsink threaded for the 3XBE I had him make one for me as the 3XBE threads are M11.4 x 0.5 and it's not a standard tap.

You can also put the lens into a longer holder. Anyway if you don't have a 3X you can try one for 60 dollars with the adaptor, M9 x 0.5 to 3XBE not the spiker adaptor.

I have been looking at wider stronger expanders and bid on some, I want VIS coated and they have to be 8mm x the mag wide for my corrected beam with at least 8mm input clearance if you see one you don't want I am looking.

The precise alignment and quality threads of the good expanders is needed for long range use of the power, for spot projection not so much.

Anyway the numbers of 1.75 line length at 75 feet and 7 inches at 300 feet is what the 44/3E/3XBE produces so if you can measure yours you can decide if it's better or not, 44/G2/6Xcyl/3XBE makes a 1/2 inch by 3/16 spot at 75 feet with a tighter hot center.

p.s. All my 44's have expanders, the primary lens only is good for desktop to 7 feet, maybe a bit more if you're patient, I'm not. :D Actually a 44 with 3E will make a 7/8 line at 15 feet that will smoke through things slowly...too slowly for me.

Thanks for loading video back up. I did want to see it. I'm still going to use Cyl correction before adding a BE to the mix. But, all knowledge is good. :D

Alaskan, thanks for that great video and show n tell!! That thing is a monster! Really does go to show we need to flex our optics muscle beyond the aixiz standard.

Really awesome!!

Excellent video Alaskan! Very nicely done, thanks for the comparison. :gj:

I was so impressed by the dot in comparison with just the g2. Thought using the zoom from a camera lens was inventive. Enjoyed the heck out of it! I’d rep you but it won’t let. Till next time. :)

Not sure this was posted yet here or not.

If you haven't seen this, may I present to you Heilung ( Nordic shamanistic style music) Enjoy... This is a really interesting music/performance group.

- You might even want to become a viking after this and go head hunting....

Here is a video for those of you like like Samurai, ninja and soccer all rolled into one.

Tokuda-san does Nisshin.

And on a surfboard, skateboard ....

Thanks, that old 35 mm telescope tube just serves as an empty tube to mount the lens on the end, and a way to adjust the lens in and out to focus it. The trick is finding the right focal length for the PCX (or other) lens on the end for the length of tubing. I had a few lenses like that with different focal lengths and just had to trial and error figure out which one worked for that length, when including the cone on the end. Got lucky, had the right FL large diameter lens. Another fortune thing is the ID or inner diameter of the end of that 35 mm tube exactly fit the OD of the heat sink.

Nice, if you wouldn’t mind where did you get your lens? Been looking on eBay for first surface mirrors and prisms and glass works, gonna try to get some cool beam shots with them. But I’m kinda interested in your build think I might like to give in a try. Got me to thinking!

I would love to see us perfect fusion power plants, so much will change and new possibilities will open up.

That's a half hour I will never get back. I guess if you use the words science and physics enough, it may sound like you actually know what you are talking about. A faster than light speed "warp bubble" is never going to happen, IMO. Can't waste anymore time talking about it now as I don't have it spare. Would love to get into it at sometime later, however.

Don't waste your time. It isn't worth the half hour. Most of it is music between some guy saying "physics". Yahoo!

That's exactly what I got out of that Warm Drive Video..:D
He talks like it exists and this new one is better...
