Vets section

The vet section is not very interesting...There are only likke 4-5 posts per day there, ND i agree with Jerry and dave if you have not BEEN HERE POSTING (1,000) posts then your not a vet.

I must admit I'm kinda jealous when members who've been here a lot shorter than me but posts tons of posts per day gets access to the vet section before me.. :shhh:

Well well, at least I'll have 1000 too by summer this year. :)

Under special request... some constantly contributing members like
yourself were admitted to the Vet Section before they reached 1000
posts... Why not ask the Admin.... The worst he can do is say no...

Jerry

While I've never seen this guy before and don't think of him as a vet, he does have a point sorta. Drlava isn't a vet, yet Tech_Junkie, Wesdaman, Crazy_Jay, Darkarmyofone, and Jake21 all are.

Well.. I checked his Posts (as I stated in post #12) and all he's done so far
is try to sell his stuff here...
Not really a outstanding qualification to be let into the Vets section with only
31 posts to his name...IMO
Even I had to wait till 1000 posts.... and I didn't die nor was I traumatized
before being able to access the Vets Section...

drlave was invited in.

Wes, Tyler, and Jake are gone.

TJ contributes to the forum.

IMNHO CJ is just coming into his own (as many veterans did after reaching the goal).

Even 1K BS posts, shows dedication to the forum (or maybe just "no life" like me ;) )

The system works

Peace,
dave

I just know that I will get some negative reputation for this, but I simply cannot resist:

How exactly does T_J contribute to the forum?
I searched 'All threads started by user' by T_J.
Not one makes any kind of reference of him actually building anything laser related what-so-ever.

Mark, sorry but I just had to ask.
My apologies up front.
I just cannot fogure it out.

He's here for moral support, comic relief, and has an eye for (other) trolls - some of what he does is behind the scenes in removing them. He does have a couple of pointers of his own, and intends to spend more when the money allows him to. That's as much as I know.

I highly appreciate a friendly answer :D

So, he is basically working behind the backdrops, taking care of the forum?
Some +reps of his say: Good job protecting the forum

No Neg reps in sight, both his and mine

Good enough for me, question answered.

Do kind of agree with the op that vet should be both time and post wise but I really don’t see the point of a vet section nor do I really care to be in it at the time (would be cool though if you want to promote me :P ) and it really doesn’t bother me considered all the content I need is in the general and green forum

though it is funny how I have been here longer than anybody in this thread :P given I did take a few months off when I ran out of money because of rpl and other purchases : )

Nobody here mentiones reputation wise selection also...

Like, +15 rep power is considered vet?

Out of time spent, and posts made, reputation seems like best indicator of knowledge and contribution to the forum.

Reputation also reflects the quality of time spend and usefullnes of posts made.
Solution to both problems there ^

I hate forums. This is the only one I like. So I don't really care to much if I don't meet anyone's expectations. Besides, most of the stuff I do here isn't usually public.

EDIT: You see the posts to the left there? Never did that before. Right now it says 1,146. For me that's a shockingly high number. I think the most I've ever posted on a website was maybe a hundred and that was on youtube.

Not everyone can research or build. If one had to be a builder or do research to be "useful", these halls would be pretty empty. ;)

There are other things that a forum needs done. TJ does a couple of those.

Peace,
dave

Agreed...

My question already answered on previous page.

I am satisfied with your answers, guys! :D
No need to poke my nose where it does not belong, I guess.

T_J does alot of work on the forum, the last i remember was that he was fixing an error in the vbullitin software for the forum. But he also donates to raffles, he has donated to the forum in the past, provides a comedy show, releases a lot of tension in the forum (sometimes causes it :D) and I'm sure there is many more things he has done that I'm not aware of.

Ditto... he's a good dude with a twisted sense of humor and a keen eye.
