see in person at Photonics West
in San Fran. 1/27 to 2/3
booth# 647

Its one of the biggest events of its kind...all the big players will be there including Bill Benner from Pangolin.

SPIE 360 676 3290
spie.org

That sounds awesome! Wish I could attend. No way I could make it to San Francisco this week.

and I bet its not cheap to get in.. never went myself- I think it runs so long because there are a ton of booths.
And more 'demos' than you have time to watch..
A majority of the ads in this months issue note booths at SPIE.
'free samples'? at food expo... tons. At SPIE... we can wish..

Sometimes at deals like these a booth 'holders' might be able t get 'tickets' the big 'Food Expo' Houston/Dallas is like $25 BUT 'free' tickets from 'hosts' are easy to get.

Haha. I was supposed to be at Photonics West for an all expenses paid school trip, but I missed out due to personal issues last semester. They send a lot of SPIE student officers. It's really intended for industry insiders and technical experts though.

Definitely would have wanted to see some of this stuff.
Styro will be there, so I really regret missing it. :(

Tickets for general SPIE members are $895, and non-members $955.

wow

'Tickets for general SPIE members are $895, and non-members $955'

I had no idea it was that spendy to go... TY for adding that--+rep
Too bad you cannot go... myb next time..len

Styro...Are u at the show ???? What does 550nm look like.
Any idea on unit cost ???? Likely 10X more than I have !

Thanx. Bob

I would like to see a 550nm laser too, Bob. Can't get there in time, nor do I have an extra grand to get in. Must be nice to be comped tickets to get in. Oh well, there is always next year.

That is not going to happen. These OPSLs are strictly lab lasers that need active temperature regulation as well as active cooling. Ultimatekaiser has a three watt one that is not too large, as the head goes, but is huge in its controller to eliminate heat from the system.

Its Not an OPSL it is a VECSEL that is being direct doubled. So technically DPSS :na:

Well...As time/tech march on...looks like we keep getting more color crayons...for our crayon box....but then...complexity, size and cost give a real jolt of reality,....Sigh !!!:eg::eg:...Back to the Lab !!

I have been to Technical Convention's....for other industries.....These group's are serious business....for serious $$$$.

" No Dogs Allowed "....(" No Hacks Allowed")....." Back off Man...I am a Scientist " hahahahaha....Beam Out

Hey guys I Have an old PDF for the 460nm version. with more info on these If anyone wants it just for fun PM me your email.

I saw the display in person...it was pretty awesome. 1W lasers in 1nm increments from roughly 520nm to 560nm and a 577nm unit. ill post pictures later. I walked around with an LPF member (connor... can't remember his username here) and I think he got in for free. That kid knows a TON about scanners and he definitely impressed some of the vendors there.
